Reviews of Temple Christian College
"We are so glad to have found Temple. As parents we are impressed with the dedication of the teachers and their commitment to support students both academically and in their faith."
"Its a good school, most of the teachers are super nice and will always help you when you need it. The music/drama department is great!"
"A lot of the teachers are very strict and a number of teachers let the power get to them and mistreat students. A number of teachers also talk down to the students unnecessarily. The rules are very strict and often are just handled with a lunch time detention and often little misbehaviour or rule breaking can be met with an immediate detention. Detentions are often held over students heads during assemblies or in classes. But if you keep your head down and follow the rules blindly you will normally escape punishment. Bullying is a very big problem in the school despite many reports and complaints bullying is still a very rampant problem for many students. The detention system is very flawed as it does almost nothing to stop students from being repeat offenders. The way students are taught isn't great but if you're good at handling information flung at your face and absorbing that the teaching style will suit you. Sometimes I feel like the IT department spends more time blocking websites and programs then solving tech problems. One such example is my sister who's laptop had to have it's screen fixed and when giving it in she was promised it wouldn't be reimaged (meaning it would erase all data not in the OneDrive) But after receiving it back she found that it had in fact been reimaged losing a lot of her work. As a whole it's not a great school it can be good for families and helping you get into things outside of school. But the biggest bonus is the fact there is a gym in the basement. P.S Ms Anderson is on a power trip 24/7 and will walk around scalding students with her feet out on display."
"Ok, so I have been thinking about this review for a while now. I graduated at Temple Christian Collage back in 2015. The school has very strong Christian values which is done extremely well. There are frequent assemblies, prayer time in home room and a class each week dedicated to this. The teaching, for the most part, is done excellently, depending on your learning style. I have seen many succeed, but I have also seen those that struggled. The uniform is held to a high standard but is too strictly adhered to. I, and many others struggled as the formal uniform was extremely uncomfortable, and heavy. If your child is coming from the Sunrise campuses, there is a drastic change to the weight and comfort levels. While I did make some friends, I was consistently bullied all through my years there. My sister was as well, to the point that she had to move schools. Not for a lack of trying to get this sorted mind you. I, and my parents, frequently tried to get this sorted out with the school time and again but nothing was done about it. I also advise, that if your child has a disability that is not outwardly visible (such as autism and ADHD), that this school is not the appropriate place for them to go to. Sensory needs were often ignored or looked poorly down on. Examples include the extremely loud music in assemblies, again the clothing, especially in winter, and a lack of space to run off energy. Unless you and your child are extremely inputting into the school, you do not get recognized. Consequences are much harsher than needed and they don’t work towards improvement of the individual."
"what ever negativity you have heard about this school is not true. temple has a very positive environment. the disciplinary system is hard but if you follow the rules its fine. please stop spreading falls news of negativity. it has more Cristian values than any other school i know and you negative people have obviously got sources who had bad experiences. temple is the most positive school I know for miles and has a strong Cristian heart. hipigig"
