Welcome to Murdoch University Car Park 8, located at Murdoch, South Street, Australia. Our institution offers convenient parking options for students, staff, contractors, and visitors at our Perth, Rockingham, and Mandurah campuses.

At our Perth campus, parking is free in the red and green zones after 5pm until 8am on weekdays, and all day on weekends. However, during other times, a valid parking permit or payment for visitors' parking is required. On the other hand, parking is always free at our Rockingham and Mandurah campuses, but a valid parking permit must be displayed.

For students, green zone parking is free during Orientation Week (24 - 28 July), while staff, contractors, tenants, and visitors still need a valid parking permit. We offer a range of parking zones and bays to cater to your specific needs.

Visitors can utilize the pay and display ticket machines, with parking rates set at $3 per hour in the Visitor zone. Our ticket machines accept both cards and cash (coins only).

To ensure a hassle-free parking experience, we provide the option to apply online for parking permits. You can choose to apply for a permit for the whole year or each semester. The permit will be mailed to you within two working days of payment.

Continuous employees or staff with a fixed-term contract of 12 months or more can also opt for payroll deduction to pay for parking.

Murdoch alumni are required to purchase an alumni parking permit, which can be applied for in person at Student Central. Please bring your student card or photo identification and complete an application form. However, alumni permits are not available to current Murdoch University staff and students, commercial staff or contractors, or transferable to family or friends. Additionally, there is no reciprocal parking arrangement with any other Perth university for a Murdoch University alumni permit.

It is essential to display a valid permit at all times, as failure to do so or incorrect use of the permit may result in an infringement and revocation of the permit.

If you need assistance or wish to apply for a parking permit in person, please visit Student Central at Perth or Mandurah, or the PDCSO in Building 104 at Rockingham.

In case of resigning from the university or formally withdrawing as a student before the final date of withdrawal, you may be eligible for a parking permit refund. To apply for a refund, simply return your annual or semester permit in person to the Perth campus Student Central before the nominated census date. Please note that parking refunds do not apply during University lockdowns or limited service periods.

Be aware that the University has the authority to impose penalties for infringements committed under the University Land and Traffic By-Laws. If you receive an infringement notice, you have 21 days to appeal from the date of the infringement. Please note that minor reasons such as parking for a few minutes or others parking without a permit are not sufficient grounds for appeal.

For public transport options to Murdoch campus, you can use the Transperth Journey Planner, which provides up-to-date route and timetable information. As a Murdoch student, you may also be eligible for discounted travel using a Tertiary SmartRider, available from the Guild.
