"I have eaten here pre covid. Last night I ordered take away for myself and husband. We ordered roast duck, roast pork, ma po tofu and special fried rice for $70. We were shocked and insulted that this restaurant would serve us such terrible food. There is no excuse to send such food out of the kitchen. It was clear the pork and duck were not cooked yesterday. Both dishes were reheated good from goodness knows when. You could tell by the colour of the meat and the overcooked texture due to being reheated. Shameful. The ma po tofu was in a tasteless watery liquid with less mince than my cat’s mince sachet. there was nothing special about the pale tasteless fried rice. All the dishes were so salty they could have been cured in salt. No Chinese restaurant we have ever eaten in ( all over the world) has ever treated its customers with such disdain. It’s hard to get any decent Chinese food in the Gold Coast, but Yum Cha takes the prize for the most expensive bad Chinese food. Clearly they don’t care about quality, freshness, taste, portion size, or their customers. Sadly, we won’t be back and others should take their money elsewhere. Had we dined in we would have walked out."
"Went there on a hot day. The shopping center was cooler than this. Do not expect your orders to be the same as photos on the menu. Beef was raw when served, and the waiter explained it was how it cooked. However, u could tell this to Non asian background customers, but I am an asian australian. Plates are large, but food is limited. When it comes to the flavors, how could I say, worst ever, or top 3 of the worst yum chas, while the other two haven't been found yet. Service is so so. It was not a busy dining time, and everyone should enjoy a quiet dining environment. However, they used the robot to serve dishes, and the whole room was full of annoying robotic English. Not recon. P.S. I didn't take too many photos, cuz, they were not made to be enjoyed. The BBQ pork belly was brown color, first time in my life saw this. So salty and sticky, maybe, just maybe, reheated by microwave."
"Food here is revolting, It’s unacceptable .Tasteless fried rice with canned ham and frozen mini prawns. Chicken feet is cold in the inside, tripe is hard and Most importantly nothing is worst than eating off a table full of black MOLD blooms! Just Disgusting! Waitress coughing while serving us without even covering her mouth. I hope a decent health inspector randomly walks in here and put them in place. Save your money and go elsewhere."
"Visited during school term break, so quite busy. Although there’re just 3 waiters, they’re still attentive to customers. The food was served hot and fast. The BBQ pork bun and Shanghai style steamed pork buns were quite bland. Siu Mai, fried pork dumplings and spring rolls were ok. The sauce of the satay chicken was good but the chicken was dry as the chef deep fried it. The deep fried bait, fried rice and vegetables were nice. The most disappointed one was the BBQ Roast Pork. It’s definitely reheated so the meat was very dry and the skin was not crunchy. The coconut pudding dessert was also very bland."
