Reviews of Kingsley Kitchen Cafe
"Would literally never step foot in this place ever again. Firstly we asked for waffles, and the lady at the front yells across to the girl sitting on her lunch break and says that she doesn’t know how to do waffles. The girl replies that she just has to make sure she checks the consistency of the batter. The lady at the counter glances into the kitchen and then mumbled that there was no batter left so she couldn’t do the waffles. So we instead order chicken salad which was terrible, and the roast beef gravy roll (the bread was stale and there was barely any gravy). As if this wasn’t enough to irritate us, they had given us the wrong vanilla slice. We specifically asked for vanilla slice and there was another type there called “Cerica vanilla slice” which was also more expensive. I went back to the counter and mentioned that we had been given the wrong vanilla slice and another older lady says “that is a vanilla slice” with an attitude in her tone. I said “No, we just asked for a vanilla slice, the other one has another name”. She says “but it’s a vanilla slice” I just told her I didn’t come here to argue, but clearly we were given the wrong one. She says “okay which one has the vanilla slice name tag”, which was the exact one we were after. So I pointed it at it. Can’t believe the staff don’t know their own product. 0/10, would never recommend to anyone."
"I have been buying a two shot coffee here regularly for $4.50 using my own 650ml cup. Today the owner wanted me to pay the three shot price because my cup was big in her opinion. I gave her the option to earn the business for the two shot price but she wasn't interested. I thought about just paying what she wanted but I've had a few burnt coffees from here and noticed staff not frothing the milk (also known as stretching the milk) using the correct method so instead I went down to Cafelife at Craigie Leisure Centre and got a great tasting un-burnt Barista coffee. I guess 50ml of extra milk broke my daily coffee fix at Kingsley Kitchen. If you are after a good basic Barista made coffee my two picks in the local area are Nourish & Feed (closes earlier than advertised be warned) and Cafelife inside Cragie Leisure Centre (closes at 8pm) If you want my subjective opinion of the "Best Coffee in Perth" my pick would be Pound Coffee Roasters located in O’Connor. Justin respects the coffee making process and roasts his own beans onsite. He also holds regular cupping sessions where he will talk you through the assorted beans, helping you understand the ins and outs of your daily cup."
"I just spent $40.00 on sandwiches and they couldn't even supply or sell me a bag to put them in. I dropped one on the sandwiches on the way to my car then had to throw it in the bin. If someone is willing to buy $40.00 worth of sandwiches get some brains and have some bags for sale at that counter. I wont buy anything from here again."
"Very slow service and no vegetarian options. Considering 1 in 10 Australians don’t eat meat it seems bizarre that they can’t make a few extra cheese and salad rolls or sandwiches. They do make a couple of token veggo rolls which are lovely but are sold out by 9AM which should tell them something? And there are sometimes a lot of staff milling around who could help serve or make coffee or even duck out the back and throw a salad roll together for an elderly woman who would love to support local."
"A hard place to find (if not a local), tucked away next to IGA. A selection of cakes and rolls and pies but I just had coffee. The coffee was good, better than average. I will be returning. I came back another day to try the food and was not disappointed. I had a chicken wrap, fresh and healthy. The red velvet cake was very nice, not too sweet. A shame there are only a few tables to sit at. More geared up for takeaway."
