City West Child Care Centre
About the Business
Welcome to City West Child Care Centre, located at 222-228 Waymouth Street in Adelaide, Australia. As an establishment and point of interest, we are dedicated to providing a nurturing and educational environment for your child.
At City West Child Care Centre, we believe that learning and education are the foundation of our organization. Our team at TAFE SA's child care centres are passionate about instilling a lifelong love of exploration and discovery in your child. We prioritize your child's wellbeing and learning, constantly engaging with research and reflective practice to ensure the highest quality of care and education.
Our guiding principles are built on trust, diversity, knowledge sharing, resilience, and emotional intelligence. We strive to lead by the heart as we walk the path of early childhood with children and their families. With us, you can be confident that your child is in good hands and will spend their day developing social skills, independence, and discovering new interests while making new friends.
We understand that questions about fees and subsidies are important, and we are here to help. All TAFE SA child care centres are approved and registered for the Child Care Subsidy. You can use our enquiry form or give one of our child care centres a call to get in touch.
Research tells us that experiences and environment greatly influence a child's brain development. That's why we establish and maintain a safe and supportive environment at our child care centres, where children can learn through exploration and play. We believe that quality care and education are essential for children's social and emotional wellbeing, as well as their communication skills. We also value the importance of reflecting the cultural and economic diversity of the communities we serve, and we provide flexible arrangements to accommodate work, study, and family commitments.
Every child at TAFE SA child care centres is treated with respect. We embrace the Early Years Learning Framework, which supports and enhances learning from birth to school age. This framework is a key component of the National Quality Framework for early childhood education and care, which forms the backbone of each of our centres. We develop our policies with input from our Centre Coordinators, staff, educators, and families, and we encourage continuous feedback.
TAFE SA is committed to providing a safe physical and online environment for children and young people. Our Safe Environments for Children, Young and Vulnerable People Policy ensures that we are aware of the legislative requirements pertaining to child safety and the associated duty of care. We prioritize the protection, safety, and wellbeing of children and young people at all times.
Allergies are taken seriously at our centres. We require action plans from doctors for allergies, along with labeled medication if applicable, to ensure the safety of your child.
Unlike many centres in South Australia, we do not charge for centre closures during the Christmas and New Year period, as well as public holidays. This can save families two to three weeks' worth of fees per year on average.
To determine child care centre fees, please get in touch with your chosen centre. We recommend applying for the Child Care Subsidy prior to commencing care at our centre to ensure you receive your entitlement from the start. Fees are charged for all days your child is booked into care, including sick days and annual leave.
Vacancies at our centre may vary throughout the year, so we encourage you to enroll your child early, especially for New Year placements. Upon completion of bookings or care for your child/children, the account will be finalized and any refunds will be credited to your nominated account.
Lastly, we would like to acknowledge the traditional owners of the lands on which TAFE SA stands. We respect and honor their connection to the land and culture.

"In our experience, this has been the best childcare that our little 2 YO has been to. We had to move to Adelaide for a couple of weeks, and I was soo worried to find a good childcare for our son, but I contacted the team, went for an inspection and in the same week he was in. No waiting list, the team really cares about each kids needs and help them with their development. It's very multicultural and friendly. We won't hesitate to recommend this centre, because it's very good."
"Our daughter started at CWCCC in May and we have been extremely happy with the centrre The care and education that is provided is exceptional, the staff are caring and engaged in her development. She is excelling in the environment. The outdoor areas are great and expose her to a great learning environment. We would highly recommend this Centre to anyone that needs high quality care and education in the city."
"Great centre with experienced, caring and multi-racial educators. All staff including admin team are polite, pleasant and professional. My 2 kids attend the centre and enjoy their time there learning and playing. Nice and big outdoor play area. Areas are generally clean which is an important factor for me. Overall conducive environment for children. Oh and the chef makes really yummy meals according to my 3.5 year old :)"
"My kids have been attending City West for almost 4 years. The staff (Educators, Admin and Senior Staff) are always friendly, caring, knowledgeable and welcoming. Families are encouraged to participate in the kids learning journeys. Staff are also available to answer questions. The kids look forward to the daily adventures at City West. The layout is fantastic, especially the communal outside play space which allows the children to interact with children of all ages and all rooms. We have made life long friends through City West."
"Very good child care centre with a great outdoor space. It's in the heart of the CBD but much more quiet and peaceful than other child care centres that have their outdoor space very close to busy roads in the suburbs. Staff are highly skilled and experienced and turn over is very low. The centre has a strong focus on multiculturalism and everyone always feels welcome there. My 2 kids really enjoy their time at city west and they built strong connections with other kids, educators, cook and admin staff. I was impressed on how my daughter developed her writing and reading skills in confidence and she was very well prepared to start school."
