The Garden at the Rose & Crown Hotel 105 Swan Street, Guildford, Western Australia 6055

"Another old pub renovated here and there and so very popular!!! A local hang out for many, I was treated to a grand selection of meals - I chose the guines pie, yum o yum. The meal was presented beautiful, I'm not keen on mushy peas so they added charred broccolini perfect. The mash was creamy, sauce salty and rich and the pie was full of chunky well seasoned tender meat. The kangaroo steak was overcooked, taste was great but texture was dry and chewy. The thrice cooked pork belly was thoroughly enjoyed! Bathrooms clean, plenty of staff and a very nice ambience."

"The Garden is a beer garden located at the back of Rose and Crown Hotel. I recommend going on the weekend for a great menu and ambience. The outdoor setting is fantastic. Beautiful garden with historical stables and a lot of seating space. I recommend the Dirty Potatoes (pictured) and the Napolentana pizza."

"Great beer garden! I had not visited previously but had driven past on multiple occasions, I was quite amazed at the size, layout and presentation of the outdoor area. Very family friendly (pram and wheelchair included), the tables and chairs are nicely spaced out with a variety of areas to sit - all was very well shaded and of course overhead water misters to keep you cool. Menu is short but the food is great (portions are on the smaller side). Great for watching sports (large screen at the back and various TVs under the outdoor bar area). We did not venture inside so I cannot comment on that."

"Breakfast was so poor. Asked to have my fried eggs flipped. They flipped them upside-down onto my toast. Now the toast is soggy. When asked to ease cook other side of egg they took it back and brought it back seconds later. Same soggy toast and only 1 egg done. Very lazy. The hotel rooms however are great."

"Guildford is picturesque and leafy little town. The Rose and Crown is a perfect fit with a laid back front bar option with several beers on tap and a great food selection. If you want a little more variety then 'The Garden' will provide more food options and a fantastic outdoor area to relax and listen to some tunes whilst enjoying a great feed. We visited on a Saturday and were worried that it would be too busy. We needn't have been concerned, the service was excellent and food arrived relatively quickly even though several functions were being held during this time. We look forward to a return visit next time we're in W.A."
