Paradise Kindergarten

Welcome to Paradise Kindergarten, located at 23 Lincoln Road in the beautiful country of Australia. Established in 1968, our institution was formerly known as Lincoln Borthwick Memorial Kindergarten and is now managed collaboratively by the Department for Education (DfE) staff and the Governing Council, which includes dedicated volunteer parents and caregivers from our center.

At Paradise Kindergarten, we pride ourselves on being a multicultural and diverse community, fostering strong partnerships with parents, caregivers, and the wider community to actively engage in our kindergarten curriculum. We believe that education is a collaborative effort, and we strive to create an inclusive and supportive environment for all children.

One of our core focuses is music education. Since 2021, we have been deeply engaged with Music Education Strategies and continue to integrate music into our daily practices and teaching methods. As a site, we have been at the forefront of implementing the Department for Education's Music Education Strategy 2019-2029.

Our primary goal is to ensure that every child reaches their highest potential in both learning and wellbeing through quality care and teaching. Our dedicated staff creates a child-centered environment that emphasizes play, developmentally appropriate activities, open-ended exploration, challenges, and inclusivity. We believe in the capabilities and competence of our children, and we provide ample opportunities for critical thinking and research alongside educators.

We extend a warm welcome to you and your child to join the Paradise Kindergarten Community. In recent years, we have made significant improvements to our outdoor play areas. Our redesigned sandpit, swings, and climbing area promote play within natural spaces and encourage risk-taking and engagement with sensory experiences. Additionally, our water pump, which feeds into the sandpit, allows children to collaborate and engage in sensory play.

As part of our commitment to sustainability, we have free-range chickens on our premises. Children have the opportunity to collect eggs from the chickens and sell them to parents and caregivers. Furthermore, our vegetable patch enables children to cook with the produce they have grown, following a 'Garden to Kitchen' model. This approach not only provides cooking experiences but also teaches children about sustainability practices.
