WorkCover WA
About the Business
Welcome to WorkCover WA, the government agency located in Shenton Park, Bedbrook Place, 2. As the establishment responsible for regulating and administrating the workers' compensation scheme in Western Australia, we play a crucial role in ensuring that workers who suffer work-related injuries or illnesses are properly compensated.
Under the Workers' Compensation and Injury Management Act 1981, our scheme provides financial support to workers for lost earnings, medical expenses, and other associated costs. We are dedicated to assisting injured workers in achieving a safe and sustained return to work, helping them regain their livelihoods.
At WorkCover WA, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to Mr. Richard Sellers, whose term with the Board has recently concluded. As a board member since May 2021, Mr. Sellers has made significant contributions to our organization.
We are also pleased to announce important updates to our regulations. Effective from 10 August 2023, amendments to the Workers' Compensation and Injury Management Regulations 1982 have established a rebuttable presumption of work-related injury for eight cancers suffered by firefighters. This ensures that firefighters receive the necessary support and compensation they deserve.
Furthermore, as of 27 July 2023, recent amendments to the Regulations have established a rebuttable presumption of work-related injury for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in DFES communications systems officers. This recognizes the unique challenges faced by these professionals and provides them with the support they need.
At WorkCover WA, we are committed to promoting knowledge and understanding in the workers' compensation space. We encourage you to further your knowledge by reaching out to our Advice and Assistance helpline at 1300 794 744. Our dedicated team is available from 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, to provide you with the guidance and support you need.
Thank you for visiting WorkCover WA, your trusted local government office and point of interest. We are here to ensure the well-being and protection of workers across Western Australia.

"Thank you Daniel M for your outstanding assistance and support. You never failed to help me and explain my options. Every time, over the past 13 months, that I asked you a question you were always quick to respond and very kind in your manner. I feel extremely fortunate to have had you, your professionalism and vast knowledge by my side. Thank you Daniel."
"Received a rather rude letter from these people saying my workers comp expired for 5 months. Threatened I would get fined and go to court if I didn't complete the form bombarding me with questions how many employees, how much paid between this and that date. Silly me filled out the form sent it back and next thing you know I cop a fine based purely on what I told them. I wish I hadnt' filled out their form. My advice is if you get 1 of these letters than get legal advice."
