At Te Kore Jade, we pride ourselves on our custom-made service, which allows you to collaborate with our skilled artisans to bring your story to life. Whether it is a piece for yourself or a loved one, we will work closely with you every step of the way to create a unique and personalized design that captures your vision.
What sets us apart is our ability to take generic forms of Maori carved greenstone designs and infuse them with our own special twist, resulting in truly one-of-a-kind pieces that are exclusive to Te Kore Jade.
Our institution also offers carving classes, which are held six days a week, from Monday to Saturday, for a duration of seven hours, starting from 9am to 4pm. These classes provide an introduction to the art of pounamu carving and delve into the history and significance of this precious resource in New Zealand culture.
Throughout the day, you will have the opportunity to learn how to properly use the tools of the trade, identify the different types of New Zealand pounamu, and develop basic carving skills to create your own taonga (treasure).
Participating in our carving classes is a truly unique and immersive experience that should not be missed. Whether you are a beginner or have some experience in carving, our knowledgeable instructors will guide you through the process, ensuring that you leave with a beautiful piece that holds deep personal meaning.
So, come and join us at Te Kore Jade and embark on a journey of creativity, cultural significance, and self-expression. Don't miss your chance to spend a day immersed in the art of Maori carved greenstone and create a lasting piece that will be treasured for generations to come.

"Our whanau are very thankful for the awhi and manaaki shown to us when we attended a workshop and when we returned to buy more pounamu. It’s a place where it feels right and feels like home. We are very thankful for the experience and support."
"Tena koe, With out first potiki kotiro on the way my taumau's (Fiancé) Pounamu needed binding. Mahalo Ke teina Laz. His skills, and knowledge along with his respect and love shown toward the Hei-tiki Pounamu (New Zealand Jade), was what impressed me. Teina Laz, did the full binding, threading and made the cord adjustable in length also. Explained what he was doing and how and why. We had the maddest of korerorero during this. Just an amazing, mad and humble individual with strong but very soft pūngao about him. Astounded, is easiest word to describe this tangata. I was blown away. He did not even charge and wanted it to be a small token to us and my taumau. te aroha nui me te mihi,"
