Unlike other driving schools that promise quick results within a few weeks, we believe that becoming an amazing driving instructor requires proper training and business systems.

At Driving West Motor School, we have developed our own driving instructor training model called the "10 Steps To Prepare For Success Model." This model has been successfully used to help multiple driving instructors set up and run their own driving school businesses, as well as work for our company.

Our professional driver instructor training regime is designed to prepare you for obtaining your license as a driving instructor. We offer two payment options: an upfront payment or weekly payments. Our team will guide you through the process of obtaining your license through the Department of Transport of WA, providing you with the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver learner driver training services as an accredited instructor in Western Australia.

During your training, you will cover various topics such as using dual controls, cabin drills, taking off and stopping, steering, U-turns, roundabouts, traffic lights, merging, changing lanes, parking techniques, country driving, commentary driving, lesson plans, diagrams, and student record sheets.

If you choose the upfront payment option, you can save by paying $2000 prior to the commencement of your training course. Please note that this payment is non-refundable once training has commenced. Alternatively, we offer option two, which allows you to make 10 equal payments of $250 per week, totaling $2,500, starting at the beginning of your training course.

If you are not interested in the full driving instructor training course, we also offer casual lessons at $300. These lessons are 2 hours long and focus on preparing you to pass the driving instructor test through the Department of Transport. Please note that this option does not include diagrams or sitting in on live driving lessons.

Our training course aims to make you a competent and confident instructor, equipping you with the necessary skills to teach your students how to be safe and confident drivers. We provide you with the tools and knowledge to earn an income and pass your assessment with the Department of Transport while brushing up on road rules and avoiding bad habits.

The process for obtaining your license includes steps such as obtaining a national police clearance, submitting your application to the Department of Transport in person, attending a medical assessment for driving instructors, and paying the licensing fee. We will assist you throughout the entire process and assess your progress to determine when you can complete the full application process.
