About Access Taxis
Welcome to Access Taxis, a premier establishment and point of interest located in Kilburn, Churchill Road, 432. As an institution dedicated to providing accessible transportation options, we understand the importance of reliable and convenient services for individuals with disabilities in the Adelaide metro area.
At Access Taxis, we take pride in dispatching wheelchair taxis to cater to the specific needs of our passengers. Our friendly operators are available 24/7, ensuring that you can rely on us whenever you need transportation assistance. However, please note that due to limited availability, there may be occasional delays. We kindly ask you to allow extra time when booking to account for these potential delays.
Our fleet of vehicles is specially equipped with hydraulic lifts, allowing passengers in wheelchairs and scooters to be loaded directly into the taxi. Our skilled drivers undergo additional training to enhance their understanding and skills in catering to passengers with disabilities. Your safety and comfort are our top priorities.
To ensure that we provide you with the appropriate vehicle, we kindly request that you provide us with the size of your wheelchair during the booking process. This will allow us to dispatch a taxi that can comfortably accommodate your needs.
We are pleased to inform you that the South Australian Government now pays a lifting fee to our drivers. This fee ensures that drivers are compensated for their time spent loading and unloading passengers, further enhancing the quality of our service.
On rare occasions, we may need to confirm details or provide dispatch updates. Rest assured that we only do this when necessary, as it allows us to dispatch taxis with enough time during peak traffic or high-demand periods. Additionally, providing destination details ensures a seamless pickup process, especially in locations with multiple wheelchair bookings.
Please note that Suburban Taxis is our contracted service provider for the management of our centralised booking service. While we strive to fulfill all Access bookings, it is important to understand that Access Taxis are operated by independent service providers whom we rely on to service your booking.
At Access Taxis, we are committed to providing accessible transportation options that meet your personal requirements. Trust us to deliver a safe and comfortable ride for individuals with disabilities in the Adelaide metro area.
Reviews of Access Taxis
"I was driving home today and the driver that had dropped someone off at Bartonvale Lodge made an ILLEGAL TURN onto Collins Street. I was making a legal turn unfortunately because I was watching the road and slowing down to turn I did not hit him. All drivers are not above the law. There are signs that say no through road . Go around the block like everyone else. He was coming out of Friar Street I was turning into Friar Street which is legal. When I rang to report and let them know the operator was extremely rude."
"Waited for an hour and half with my daughter in her wheelchair. Never came at all 2 hours later we walked home. Electric wheelchair ran out 1km from home so had to push up a hill. I just so disgusted with this company."
"We’ve only started using this wonderful service recently and have had four different drivers. These drivers couldn’t be more helpful, they’re polite and caring. Arriving on the time booked and for the return trip haven’t been kept waiting too long. In fact I prefer this service over the usual taxis that one uses, have had some dreadful experiences with these drivers. Keep up the good work Access cabs and thank you."
"How is this company allowed to operate? The cab for my disabled Mum was pre-booked for 11:50am. The cab had not picked her up by 1:45, so I made alternative arrangements. How can a company be allowed to take bookings for a cab when they are simply not be able to fulfil that booking? If the service was for able-bodied customers, this would not be acceptable, so why is it ok for disabled clients? DISGUSTING."
"If I could give 0 stars I would! Very disappointing service, resulting in people with disabilities missing important health care appointments. Fully understanding that there are peak busy times of day for this service, I asked how far in advance I should book a taxi when I called to make the booking. When the taxi hadn't showed up 30mins after the booking time I called to follow up only to be told they were still trying to locate a driver to head to our address and that I shouldn't have booked a taxi for peak time....Pretty disgraceful! Don't make promises you cant keep, especially when it comes to the health of our communities vulnerable."
