Welcome to Northfield Primary School, a public school located in the inner northern region of Adelaide, South Australia. Situated on North Avenue, our school is a point of interest and a hub for educational excellence. With a steady enrolment of approximately 400 children from Reception through to Year 7, we provide a nurturing environment for students to thrive academically and personally.

At Northfield Primary School, we believe in celebrating our cultural diversity. Over half of our students come from diverse backgrounds and speak English as a second language. This diversity enriches our learning community and fosters a sense of inclusivity and global awareness.

We are proud to be recognized as a Peace School by the United Nations, with our strong peace ethos embedded in our curriculum. Our Peace Code, which includes speaking kindly, caring for oneself and others, doing the right thing, finding help, turning things around, being brave, and being a peacemaker, guides our students in their interactions and promotes a harmonious school environment.

Developing strong literacy and numeracy skills is at the core of our educational philosophy. We have set two main priorities for our students: reading comprehension and student engagement. In 2020, we embarked on a unique journey to celebrate the Olympics (held in 2021) by collectively walking the distance from Northfield Primary School to Tokyo, Japan. Due to the challenges posed by COVID-19, our annual science expo looked different in 2020.
