Queensland Theatre of Puppetry (QTOP)

Welcome to the Queensland Theatre of Puppetry (QTOP), located at Main Beach on the Gold Coast Highway. As an establishment and point of interest, QTOP offers a unique and captivating experience for visitors of all ages.

Our most recent show, "Rapunzel," which ran in June and July 2023, was a tremendous success. We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support from the community, as the funds raised during the show will be donated to the Gold Coast Hospital Foundation for the benefit of the Children's ward. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended and contributed to this wonderful cause.

Currently, we are on a brief hiatus as the Car race takes over the theatre during the September school holidays. However, we are excited to announce that our next production will take place in the January holidays of 2024, running from Monday, January 8th, until Friday, January 19th. Shows will be held from Monday to Friday on both weeks, with two performances daily at 9:30 am and 11 am. Please note that there will be no shows on weekends.

When you visit us at QTOP, admission is only $6.00 per person, with children under two years old entering for free. We accept cash payments at the door and now offer the convenience of tap and go for card payments. Our theatre is located in MacIntosh Park, at the corner of the Gold Coast Highway and Admiralty Drive in Main Beach. We look forward to welcoming you there.

Rest assured, our theatre is fully air-conditioned, providing a comfortable environment for your enjoyment. After the show, take advantage of the beautiful MacIntosh Park, which offers ample space for play and relaxation. This park is an ideal spot for families to unwind and make memories together.

At QTOP, we do not require bookings for our shows. Simply pay at the door, and you're in for an enchanting experience. We warmly welcome after-school care groups and senior citizen groups to join us, as our mission is to support various Gold Coast charities. All proceeds from our shows are donated back to the community, with a particular focus on the Gold Coast Hospital Fund. Our contributions help provide life-saving special equipment for the Children's Emergency Section, as specified by the hospital.
