About the Business
Welcome to Notary Public Adelaide, located in the heart of North Adelaide on Melbourne Street. As a trusted establishment in the finance sector, we are a point of interest for individuals and businesses in need of notarial services.
At Notary Public Adelaide, our experienced notaries can assist you with a range of services. Whether you require a witness for your signature, notarization of documents, or certification for documents intended for overseas use, we have you covered.
It's important to note that when it comes to foreign powers of attorney, they must be prepared in the destination country of the document. Australian powers of attorney cannot be used in this case. Our knowledgeable team can guide you through the process and ensure your documents meet the necessary requirements.
When it comes to certifying documents as true copies, we can only do so for original documents. If your document is only available electronically, you will need to source it in the presence of our notary. Additionally, if a document needs to be verified online, it may cause a delay in the certification process.
For legal matters that require an affidavit, our notaries can assist you in having it properly sworn or affirmed. However, it's typically prepared by a lawyer in the country where it will be filed.
If your affidavit refers to personal identity numbers issued by certain countries, it's important to bring a government-issued document containing that number during your appointment.
Please note that our notaries do not provide advice on the content or form of a document. It is crucial for you to thoroughly read and review the document before your appointment. If you notice any errors or discrepancies, it may be necessary to refer back to the person who prepared the document.
In the case of non-English documents, a translation will be required. We only accept translations from NAATI approved translators. The translator's official stamp must include their name, registration number, approval details, and the date of the translation.
If you can only access an electronic copy of translated documents, we must be able to access the original email from the translator.
Some countries issue documents in both their official language and English. In such cases, translations may not be necessary. It's always best to check with us first to ensure compliance.
Please be aware that our notaries cannot witness your signature using online technology. You must attend in person for your signature to be witnessed.
Our fees are payable on the day of service. If you provide us with a copy of the document before your appointment, we can provide you with an estimate of our charges in advance.
If an ASIC or other company search is required, there will be a charge for that service.
If you need an apostille, we can assist you in obtaining one. The current charge for each apostille from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) is $92.00 (as of January 1, 2023). Please verify the current DFAT fees before proceeding.
You have the option to make an appointment to take your documents to DFAT yourself, or we can obtain an apostille on your behalf for a fee.
We strive to provide efficient and reliable notarial services to our clients. Contact Notary Public Adelaide today to schedule an appointment or for further information on any of our services.
