Reviews of Paws and More Vet Centre
"My dog recently had a tumour removed. Throughout his treatment the vet, Dr Jolyn, has been so knowledgeable, professional and very open with information from the pathology lab. She has also been understanding and realistic with treatment options, and I am confident that my dog is receiving the best care possible. At the time of the surgery there was a miscommunication regarding items covered in the cost estimate, however the practice apologised, has been proactive about rectifying the issue, and I am satisfied with their response. I'm very happy with the quality of care and the professionalism and genuine kindness of all the staff at Paws and More. I would 100% recommend them to any pet owner."
"I cannot recommend Paws and More Vet enough. They are not the closest vets to us but I wouldn't take my furbabies anywhere else. They are extremely caring and compassionate and understanding of my dogs. They really go above to accommodate my dogs and I highly recommend their services."
"This is our first time here. It make us feel hear and understand our situation. The Doctor I forgot her sorry, she was excellent on her job and she make me feel welcome and heard. Put my dog on good plan and explain well what's our goal. Thank you x"
"I wrote a review some weeks ago regarding bad experiences with more than one of the practice's nursing staff. I had made telephone calls in relation to arranging to collect a prescription for ongoing medication for my elderly dog with bone cancer... I was given misinformation and verbal abuse when I called the staff on their misinformation, etc. In addition, I had dropped a valuable ring in the consultation room and clearly instead of being honest and handing the ring back someone took a liking to this very unusual ring and decided to keep it. Anyway, the practice responded in a reasonable manner to my review but what they didn't say is that in response to my review they sent me a threatening letter say, among other things, that if I attend the practice again, they will call the police on me and take legal action! They did not address the fact that their staff were ill informed and poorly trained because if that was not the case, then the only other reason for them providing misinformation is that they don't care. And now when I consider the response I received from the practice I understand the tardiness comes all the way from the top. The owners and management set the culture and it filters all the way down the line to the nursing and front end staff. It's quite unbelievable that a business can threaten a client with legal action just for speaking the truth and expressing upset at being provided incorrect information. And I had asked for a meeting to discuss my concerns with an owner or manager and all that was offered by the staff was to say I could come in a fortnight's time to crash a meeting the owner already has with someone else. They could not offer me a return telephone call from the practice owner nor go they give me an appointment at another time. I didn't feel it was appropriate to crash an appointment that someone else was expecting with the owner!"
"My 14 year old dog has terminal cancer and I have had a few interactions with Paws and More Vet Clinic. The two vets we have seen have provided a caring experience. However, not the same can be said for some of the vet nurses and / or support staff, in particular Iona and Lena. Due to the expense of medications when supplied by the vet (up to 10 times more expensive if purchased from the vet), I decided to request a prescription for the required medications which I can then purchase from my chemist at a fraction of the cost. Approximately three weeks ago I ordered one prescription and was advised the vet is able to provide a script for 3 months supply. That was fine and I collected the script (at a cost of $38.50). Last week I called again requesting a prescription for one of the other medications. I asked how many months could be supplied on the prescription and I was advised to hold while they check with the vet. I was then told a script will be written for me for 6 months supply which in effect is 600 tablets. To my disgust when I collected the script (which costs $38.50) it only covered 200 tablets. I queried this and was told only 3 months supply is permitted per script and that was on the instruction of the vet. Obviously, I queried it again because I had called ahead, and the vet had apparently advised a couple of hours earlier that 6 months supply would be provided in the script and now we don’t even have enough for 3 months as the dog takes three tablets daily… It was a very difficult and unpleasant experience dealing with Iona and Lena. Both young ladies (if I may call them ladies…) displayed appalling attitude and could see anything wrong in providing incorrect information on the telephone. Iona lied that she had spoken to the vet. I was given pathetic excuses that one was new and didn’t know any better and the other had been away on leave and didn’t know things had changed. I explained that is why I called ahead, so we would not have any of these unpleasant encounters. It should take no more than a couple of minutes to collect and pay for a prescription, however, that afternoon I was there for more than 45 minutes dealing with these two very incompetent staff members, Iona and Lena. I requested to speak with the owner or someone in charge such as a practice manager and I was told the owner is never in attendance and there is no one in charge of the practice. They also refused to give me the name/s of the owner/s and said they don’t have any contact information. I advised that I need to speak with the owner/s. When they realised I was not going to relent or take “no” for an answer, I was advised that the only time it will be possible to speak with the owner would be between 8am and 8:30am on 15 March. I was rather surprised that they could offer me this time considering minutes earlier it seemed like an impossible request. So of course, I queried it. I was told that the owner has a meeting scheduled at that time with someone else and if I want to speak with him that is the only time to come. I suggested it would not be appropriate for me to crash a meeting he has scheduled with someone else, but I was told that is the only time available. Clearly these two staff incompetent members, Iona and Lena have as little understanding as they have knowledge or an ability to provide customer service. But maybe there isn’t any competent people left looking for work? If I was the owner, I would not want such appalling staff representing my business… I would rather be in there myself than leave my business and reputation to these two! And in addition, in February I dropped a valuable ring in one of the appointment rooms during a previous consultation and staff are claiming the ring was not spotted in the room. I was wearing the ring as I walked into the appointment room and I know that because I was upset and I was fidgeting with the ring. My hand was trapped under my dog and the ring slid off as I removed my hand!"
