Our highly experienced therapist, Deborah, has been helping couples build resilient and deeply connected relationships for over 20 years. Her dedication to helping couples thrive is evident in the positive feedback from her clients, past and present. Deborah's popularity as a relationship therapist speaks volumes about her expertise in addressing a wide range of difficulties that couples face. She firmly believes that the quality of our relationships, both with our significant other and ourselves, significantly impacts our overall well-being.
Deborah's approach is evidence-based and draws from her training in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy at Curtin University of Western Australia and her studies in Family Therapy and Family Research at the University of Colorado, Boulder, USA. She recognizes the crucial role of emotions in adult attachment and the way couples bond. Her focus lies in helping partners connect emotionally and assisting them in reestablishing stronger bonds when facing distressing patterns. Additionally, Deborah incorporates other therapeutic techniques, such as psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral therapy, to address individual factors that impact our relationships.
At The Hart Centre, Deborah can assist couples with communication difficulties, conflict management, intimacy issues (both physical and emotional), reconnecting after an affair, and power dynamics in relationships. She is also well-versed in guiding couples through challenging life transitions, such as starting a family, coping with aging, illness, and navigating blended families.

Reviews
"Great people and fast service, highly recommend"
"Reached out for assistance after being recommended to Hart Center, individual consult first. Observed psych to be like a deer caught in the headlights as I gave brief history with highlights. Did not feel confident that I would receive the help I needed. Body language saying opposite of what was coming out of her mouth. Sent email a couple of days before 2nd app. to outline instance of emotional disregulation that I had experienced and asking for clarity on if she thought she was up to the challenge of assisting me. Received a firm 'No', sorry, not my area. I have adhd and am trying to get strategies for emotional regulation. Would I try Hart Center again, no. Seeking help this time has made me realise how little is understood about the impact adhd has on older women, who are just getting diagnosed in their 40's and 50's +, and the consequences of that diagnosis for the individual and their families."
