About Hilton Primary School
Welcome to Hilton Primary School, an Independent Public School that has been thriving in our vibrant community for over 70 years. Originally known as Hilton Park Primary School, we are located just five kilometers from central Fremantle in Australia. Our school is nestled in a beautiful natural and managed landscape, providing our students from Kindergarten to Year 6 with authentic teaching and learning experiences.
At Hilton Primary School, we have a deep appreciation for the Noongar culture and have a long-standing association with the Wadjuk Noongar people. We acknowledge that our school is on Wadjuk Noongar Boodja and recognize our responsibility as custodians of this land. We are committed to walking the journey of Reconciliation with First Nations people and honoring their rich culture and contributions to our school community.
Our school prides itself on our five core values: Community, Care, Creativity, Inclusivity, and Sustainability. We strive to practice sustainability every day, caring for our school, environment, planet, and each other. Our proximity to the Hilton Harvest Community Garden and our own Hilton PS farmyard, complete with vegetable pods and resident chickens, further enhances our commitment to sustainability.
As we continue to grow (currently serving almost 300 students), we are constantly developing our physical environment to meet the needs of our students. Our outdoor stage, Sensory Room, and upcoming nature play spaces are all designed with sustainable materials, creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment.
Through a collaborative self-reflection process, we have developed a Plan for Growth for the next phase of Hilton Primary School's development from 2021 to 2024. Our purpose is to strive for excellence in teaching and learning, foster positive partnerships with families and the community, and provide a balance between explicit teaching, play-based learning, and nature pedagogy. We are dedicated to ensuring that Hilton Primary School is a great place for our students to learn and grow.
In addition to a diverse student body, including 12% of students who identify as First Nations people, we also have a significant number of French and German families. Our youngest children have the opportunity to participate in German, French, and English speaking Play Groups, affiliated with Playgroups WA.
We greatly value the support of our families, who actively engage with our staff through our Parents and Citizens Association, School Board, Grounds Committee, and as Class Representatives. Our close-knit community fosters strong relationships between families, staff, and students, creating a warm and caring environment.
We invite you to visit our school and experience the values that we hold dear. Our students and staff will be delighted to share their teaching, learning, and play experiences with you, demonstrating our expected behaviors of Courtesy, Consideration, and Cooperation. They will happily tell you why they love Hilton Primary School.
For more information on enrolments, please visit our enrolments page. Additional tours will be held on August 1st and August 17th at 9am. As we stand on Whadjuk Noongar country, we respectfully acknowledge the past and present traditional custodians of this land and the contributions of Indigenous and non-Indigenous people to the education of our children. It is a privilege to be part of this community.

Reviews of Hilton Primary School
"I Would not recommend this school"
"Terrible teacher in kindy blue. We ended up homeschooling."
"it was soo good but now they change the principles like i change clothes, its so bad and the quality has become worse then ever!"
"I certainly hope Dr Bochenek has learnt more constructive approaches towards primary school aged children requiring support (rather than force). Carmel is an incredibly creative thinker and excellent leader (particularly with adults)."
