""Perth's leading sexual health clinic for men..." isn't what it cracks itself up to be. I've now had my third horrible experience with them, and it was again made worse by the way it was approached by the front desk staff, as well as the office manager. The standard seems to be "I'll pass that on", with very little acknowledgement that what's transpired is actually a real, pressing issue for the patient. You even have to repetitively attempt to prompt some form of an apology out of them. As a patient, I don't have the confidence that there is any real accountability at this practice. I even tried to get the manager to relay to me what my complaint was. He hesitated, and couldn't tell me the key points of what I'd spoken about. This is where there was no empathy. "I've heard what you've said, and [again] I'll pass it on." Just like a robot. Only a robot would perhaps nowadays be more self-aware. It was supposed to be constructive feedback, and it's undoubtedly fallen on deaf ears. I'd expect someone in charge to have better people skills. It was an awkward conversation, and my experiences feel minimized. Communication seems very one-sided: 'Feign listening, throw out a blanket statement, then disregard'. It must be how the front desk guy has been trained, because he also demonstrates a real lack of sympathy for mistakes that directly affect patients. Don't try and suggest other possible solutions to their mistakes with the front desk guy, either. You'll just get an emphatic and careless "No." He delivered this wall with a lot of attitude too. Quite chilly, and rude. The previous "slip up" was that my STI screening results were sent to my address without my name. It was opened by a member of my family, who passed it on to my mother. Imagine how livid you would be if this happened to you. Don't expect a caring response beyond "I'll pass that on". This time, the dispensing of my medication has been delayed again because I was again sent my prescription in the wrong format. A mistake made profoundly worse by the way it was dealt with by admin staff who just need to do better. The final dealbreaker is that now they're charging $35 a visit for the same lackluster treatment. I have to find another provider. Advice welcome!"
