"Love this place! The food is amazing, I recommend trying the tempura mushrooms, the green tea salt which they use is fantastic. They also have an extensive Sake menu which is a nice treat on a Friday night. It’s a small intimate dining space with a few booths so It can be hard to get bigger bookings, I recommend booking a week in advance at least."

"A Japanese Izakaya located in North Adelaide. It feels like a chilled Japanese bbq skewers Eatery and bar. The food is ok. I would say very average, which I have no problem with. The price here is about $100 per person with a few skewers and drinks. We ordered 2 rounds, after the first round. We found that the dishes' sizes are very small, and some of them were also a bit dry. Therefore we have to order another round of food and drinks. However, it still seems not enough. We may order more. But, we did not bother to order more, as the food is not worth another wait. This place is clearly overpriced. We have no problem with the price, we do not mind if it is even more, as long as the food and experience are worth. To be fair, there is nothing wrong with this place. The only thing is the mismatch between their price and what they can deliver. The rating is for this strong mismatch. It is not just about 25 to 50% overpriced. In our experience there, it feels like at least 100% overpriced for the food and environment. I am not sure how many other customers have a similar feeling but did not mention it. There are few other reviews with a similar idea. However, the owner always just fights back and says all the customers know nothing about yakitori izakaya............ Although some are very experienced reviewers and have been to many restaurants. I think it is time for them to also start listening to the feedback instead of just fighting back to every non 5 stars reviews. Think about how to improve, so it is worth your price. Presentation, ingredients, cooking method.......there are so many things that can be improved. Instead of simply believing in yourself and everyone else who thinks it is not worth is simply a fool."

"A chilled Japanese bbq skewers restaurant. Came on a very busy Friday dinner service. The yakitori was above average, some were delicious like the chicken meatballs but some were not so. Staffs were very friendly and service was relatively quick given how busy they were. A good place to catch up with friends, have some drinks and skewers."

"When you think of artisans, what country would first pop into your mind? Japan of course! Takumi yakitori or 'artisan yakitori' lives up to its name. Initially you may be surprised at the portion size and price, but this is how yakitori should be. Eddie's and his team's food is all about bringing out the best flavor of each dish; the photos just do not do it justice. Whether its lightly seasoned with salt as with the Wagyu, succulent pieces of baby squid dipped in sweet yakitori sauce with a touch of spice or the perfectly cooked fatty flame seared salmon topped with lightly seasoned radish, complexity and depth of flavor exceeds most "high end" restaurants. To be honest, the friendly atmosphere, lively staff and great service all contribute to Takumi being one of the best restaurants in Australia.
