This intimate setting was perfect to experience the smash hit movie Soundtracks and Broadway classics sung brilliantly by Dean combined with his whitty humour and audience interaction. This will not be our last visit to Downstairs at the Maj."

"Great venue for cabaret. An intimate space yet plenty of capacity. Menu isn't amazing, but this isn't what we're here for and the chips (fries) were good. Reasonable wine selection for a typical theatre bar."

"I was at the brand new King's Lair venue adjacent to DownStairs at the Maj and it was lovely. Rich velvet backdrop , small tables and classic bentwood chairs it had that old world charm. I also loved seeing the His Maj Museum Irvine King has set up on the way in. Fascinating slice of history preserved. Food and drink available downstairs"

"We've seen some brilliant comedians and magicians here - they have a bar downstairs, the room is quite small, tables are crammed in together, and least time I was there I was sat behind a pillar so my view was obstructed, which was a shame"
