Tivoli Club

Welcome to the Tivoli Club, a renowned establishment and night club located at 67 Canning Beach Road in Applecross, Australia. As a point of interest and tourist attraction, the Tivoli Club offers an exciting and unique entertainment experience for all visitors.

At the Tivoli Club, we pride ourselves on providing quality entertainment for the public of Perth. Our club holds a special place in Western Australia's entertainment scene as the only non-professional theatre that produces three variety/cabaret shows throughout the year. Since its founding in 1971 by Jack "Skinny" Martin, the Tivoli Club has captivated audiences with its "Old Time Vaudeville" style entertainment.

Originally a mobile club, the Tivoli Club found its permanent home in 1973 at the Applecross District Hall, now known as the Tivoli Theatre. This move allowed for the integration of the Trembath School of Dance, which provided talented dancers for our shows. Dorothy Trembath, a renowned acrobatics teacher in Australia, became the Producer and Choreographer, while her husband Bill took on the role of Musical Director. Over the years, the Club has had several Producers, each bringing their own unique style to our performances.

The Tivoli Club has been a launching pad for many talented artists, including Rochelle Durkin, who went on to become a Soprano at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and Tammy MacIntosh, a successful actress. Our former performers have also found success at the Moulin Rouge, in stage productions such as Wicked and Mamma Mia, and on cruise ships.

One of the highlights of the Tivoli Club is our junior section, known as the Tivoli Youth Performers. This group is open to children between the ages of 6 and 16, providing them with valuable stage experience and the opportunity to develop their talents and confidence. We believe that everyone has the potential to shine on stage, and experience is not a prerequisite for joining our youth performers. All we ask is for a commitment to attend rehearsals and performance dates.

Auditions for the Tivoli Youth Performers are held annually, and we strive to make the process welcoming and supportive. Shy performers can even audition with a friend. As a self-funded institution, the Tivoli Club relies on the dedication of our volunteers, both on and off the stage. We do not receive any grants from the government, and all cast and crew members generously donate their time and talent. Our commitment to low-cost entertainment for the public of Perth extends to our fundraising efforts for various charities, including Radio Lollipop, Junior Diabetes Foundation, Royal Flying Doctors, WA State Emergency Services, Esther Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, and many more.
