For my starter, I opted for the Boerewors Skewer - a delicious plate of six small sausages that were bursting with flavor. My Ribeye steak was cooked to perfection, just the way I requested it, and not only was it incredibly tasty, but it also looked stunning on the plate. One of the standout aspects of my experience at Meat & Wine was the fantastic service. My waiter was attentive and responsive to my needs throughout the meal, which only added to the overall enjoyable atmosphere. My only criticism would be the music choice. To make this a more unique and authentic experience, I would suggest lighter volume African music rather than top 40 style music"

"I recently had the opportunity to dine at The Meat & Wine Co restaurant and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The restaurant is housed in the beautiful and spectacular heritage-listed Elder House, boasting modern looks and stylish interiors that create a charming ambiance. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and promptly seated by the friendly front desk team, which set a positive tone for the evening. I had made two special requests while making reservations at Meat & Wine Co: one regarding my dietary requirements and the other a small request to make my friend's birthday celebration extra special. Now, let's talk about the highlight of the evening—the star of the show—The Amazing Wagyu Steak. The kitchen team deserves kudos for preparing beautifully charred steaks that were simply delightful. My entree was also delicious, but my personal favorite was the dry-aged tartare with its runny yolk—a true delight for the taste buds. However, while the food and ambiance were outstanding, I did feel that the service could have been better. Although the wait staff were friendly and kind, they lacked attentiveness. Despite having enough staff, the service was slow, and they unfortunately missed the opportunity to acknowledge my friend's birthday with a small gesture, like bringing desserts with a candle or a birthday wish. These small touches can make a significant difference in creating a memorable dining experience. Overall, I would rate The Meat & Wine Co restaurant with 3 stars. The amazing food and charming ambiance were definite highlights, but the lack of attentive service and attention to guest requests prevented it from reaching its full potential. With a bit more attention to detail and guest satisfaction, this venue has the potential to earn a solid 5-star rating."

"Came here for a birthday last night. The venue is architecturally beautiful inside with really nice lighting. The service was extremely good but the there was one waiter who may have been quite new to the job and caused abit of stress to our table by reminding us 3 times that we only had a certain amount of time remaining on our table despite there being at least 15 other free tables. Apart from that the food was delicious and the prices were quite reasonable. I’ll be happy to come back. Thanks for the food."
