Reviews of Garden College
"EDIT: For my own protection I’m not giving my real name out, that shouldn’t be difficult to comprehend. I obviously don’t want to be harassed by you. I was enrolled in this school from 2015-2018 with the previous principal D.M. This is the correct school and trying to deflect everything I said is unacceptable. Speaks volumes. From a past student: some teachers are great and the bad teachers were just really horrible. They had a maths teacher who was really violent who threw tables, chairs, and he slammed a door so hard that the window cracked, 30 students can attest to this. Some teachers weren’t fit to be teachers at all, and there were quite a few of them. They would scream at students and treated them in a way as if they were on some sort of power trip or ego high. The learning here is quite behind compared to other schools. I remember once we had a relief teacher in Year 9 and they were surprised to find out that we still did Look Cover Write Say Check instead of stopping in primary school. How appalling is that? Look Cover Write Say Check all the way into the ninth grade. In three entire years only one excursion was provided. When I moved schools I really did struggle to catch up because of how much this school set me back. Also had a really horrible experience with the counsellor as well, they promised to help me and instead they just became pregnant and they left the school for good. Lots and lots of bullying that they struggled to get under control, internally, externally and even between schools. It’s been a few years since then, I’m glad to say I moved because not only did my learning and academics get better but so did my mental health."
"This school should of never been council approved or built there is a perfectly good Catholic school just across the road. Having two schools right opposite each other during the morning drop off and afternoon picking up causes absolute nightmare especially for buses as they need to keep to there timetable."
"This is an amazing school Principal (Dr Ahdeilah Edries)is the best and she has done so much for this school and many other as well (IQRA College). Sheikh Haisam is such and amazing religion teacher and he makes Islam more likeable for the students and more relatable (The Students can relate to him and he has immaculate English). Mr Aaron Caesarikow is an amazing teacher and is a great asset for the school so they shouldn't give him up. I recommend coming to this school"
"Fantastic place. Room for improvement. But great efforts. Even non-Muslims feel comfortable. Quite happy with the setup. The only issue I have is for the parents to teach some manners to the children. The sheer noise and esp during and after prayers, just makes one feel like the kids are crazy and they experience no parenthood at home."
"This is a really good school, My son came here for yr 1. The teachers/staff and principals are great, they really care! They are always trying to improve and ask parents for feedback! Receptionist are always polite. A school with professionalism. The islamic/quran studies are very good, my son learnt alot of surahs in yr 1."
