THEATRE 180
About the Business
Welcome to Theatre 180, located at 38 Saint Georges Terrace in Perth, Australia. As an establishment and point of interest, Theatre 180 is an innovative and exciting theatre company that showcases Western Australian drama in a compelling and impactful way. We are proud to have Leanne and Sam Walsh AO as our Co-Patrons, Secretary, and Chair, who believe in the power of theatre to engage and transform audiences.
At Theatre 180, we believe that great theatre is the living, breathing fire of humanity. It is a place where earth, air, and fire come together to create a shared experience of storytelling that can elicit social change. We strive for authenticity, integrity, respect, and inclusivity in everything we do. Our goal is to be agents for social change, using stories to understand our past, illuminate the present, and dream our future.
We would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we live and work, the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation, as well as the traditional custodians of the land on which we tour. We respect and value their continuing culture and the contribution they make to our city, region, and the state of Western Australia. We pay our respects to their Elders, both past and present.
For the past 30 years, Theatre 180 has been deeply involved in communities through our Agelink Community access program. This program focuses on mental health-driven oral history theatre projects that affirm the value and wisdom of seniors in our society. We are also dedicated to presenting works for and about young people and students, and creating educational opportunities for them.
We actively seek out the best writing from Australia and around the world to present to audiences in Perth and on tour throughout regional Western Australia, interstate, and internationally. Our shows are designed to be accessible to a broad, intergenerational audience, ensuring that everyone can experience the power of theatre.
We are proud to partner with various organizations that share our vision and values. Their support enables us to continue producing high-quality and impactful theatre experiences for our audiences.
