Sopranos Pizzeria Ristorante/ Function
About the Business
Welcome to Sopranos Pizzeria Ristorante/ Function, one of Perth's most unique Italian restaurants. Located in a heritage listed building on Mill Point Road in South Perth, our establishment offers a captivating blend of casual dining and function areas that will transport you to the heart of Italy.
Originally built in the early 1900s by Fred Stidworthy, a skilled stone mason, our restaurant stands as a landmark in South Perth. Fred and his family resided in the building while he worked on notable projects such as the Old Mill Theatre and the stone masonry at The Perth Zoo. The building has a rich history, with reports of Fred being stabbed in a Perth hotel, leading his family to move upstairs. His wife then ran the first tea rooms in South Perth until 1918.
Over the years, the property has housed various businesses, including a dressmaker and tailor shop, a restaurant called The Rose, and even a rumored bordello on the upper floor. Customers and staff have shared stories of the building being haunted and witnessing mysterious figures on the stairwell. In 2000, the building underwent a renovation and was reborn as Sopranos Pizzeria Ristorante.
Step inside and discover the rustic charm and vibrant atmosphere of this iconic landmark building. Whether you're joining us for lunch, dinner, or a special event, our goal is to provide you and your guests with a dining experience that will leave you smiling.
Indulge in our delectable menu, featuring mouthwatering dishes such as tomato salsa, mozzarella, tiger prawns, zucchini, bacon, and fresh herbs. Or savor our freshly made pumpkin and fetta ravioli tossed in a gorgonzola and pink peppercorn sauce, a true culinary delight. Pair your meal with our basil pesto, olive tapenade, and extra virgin olive oil for a burst of Mediterranean flavors. And for seafood lovers, our freshly made pasta with tiger prawns, garlic, chilli, and white wine is a must-try.
Please note that a public holiday surcharge applies, and prices may be subject to change without notice. We accept Mastercard, Visa, and Eftpos cards (with a surcharge for Diners and Amex), and we are fully licensed. You're also welcome to bring your own wine, with a corkage fee.

"Not only was the food excellent with a great range and served promptly...the customer service was exemplary. Staff truely went above and beyond to look after our group including international guests and restless children. We were relocated, at our request, to an area where the kids could enjoy dinner and not potentially annoy any other customers. As a parent juggling commitments to special guests as well as keeping kids out at night, I was so grateful for the patience and kindness and outstanding customer service. It meant we all had a wonderful dinner, enjoying the city lights and beautiful nightscape of South Perth on a mild winter's night. Sopranos staff, you made it a wonderful dining experience, thanks so very much!!"
"It’s a nice place on Mill Point Road opposite to the Perth Zoo. Food was good, we requested for additional requests on Pasta which they obliged. Place looks old, atmosphere is calm. Try some cocktails, they are really good. Location & Ambience - 4/5 Food & Drinks - 5/5 Service - 5/5 Hygiene - 5/5 Value for Money - 4/5"
"Yummy big portions of food! Highly recommend☺️ easy access to the restaurant as there's a lot of parking around too!"
"Great place to go for a night out. Excellent location. Walk along the river after. We tried the Freo octopus which was excellent. Risotto was good too. Lots of seafood."
"The restaurant was quite old but clean and comfortable. The food was good although I wouldn't say it was great. The wood fired pizzas seemed to be what all the other patrons were having and these did look yummy. The upstairs toilets would be an issue for anyone with mobility issues."
