"We attended Marumo after wanting to go for such a long time, we took our daughter for her 20th birthday. Entered the restaurant and noticed it was a neat and tidy, but cosy space. We had the summer menu. Items included are on the menu picture attached. It's not often you get caught up in food, emotions come out with each bite, but this is one place where this happens with each dish. The subtle flavours mixed with fresh and bold ingredients like Truffle, fresh seafood and meat and amazing broths and textures shows why its so hard to get into this place. One of the most enjoyable food experiences I have had and hope to get back again sooner than later. B.Y.O drinks to add 8 Courses."
"This is a very popular restaurant with limited seating, making it extremely difficult to secure a reservation in Perth. *Appetizer - Squid salad (I think it’s pre-made) *Smoked ocean trout - Average, although the server warned us about it being hot, it turned out to be lukewarm. It seemed not freshly fried, but still had a satisfying crunch. *Duck breast soba - The duck breast wasn't the most delicious I've had; the texture was too soft. *Glacier 51 tooth fish - The fish had a crispy exterior and tender on the inside, accompanied by burdock shreds, which tasted great. *Chef's selection sashimi - The slices of sashimi were too small and cut too thinly. I only had three small pieces, making it difficult to judge their freshness. *Tasmania salmon belly sushi - The salmon on top was too thin, making it difficult to appreciate the texture, but the fried prawn inside the sushi stole the show. *Harvey beef cheek - I must say I've never had meat this delicious before. it was incredibly tender! I didn't have high expectations initially, but this dish turned out to be the best one I had. *Green tea sweet potato & miso - This dessert had a unique flavor. After the rich meat dishes, it was a perfect combination. The 7-course Omakase is $95ppl and the restaurant only has 24 seats, requiring reservations for dining. I highly recommend giving it a try and dining there."
"Simply Amazing! From specially selected ingredients to portions and flavors, the chef mastered all the combine elements to make it a truly magical dining experience for us. Definitely be back for next season’s menu. The wait staff was very attentive and described every dish to us in perfection! 6-Star!"
"Enjoyed all the food. Straight forward good dish overall. With the price and whats been presented I'm fully satisfied and understand the hype around the booking etc. Worth to try if you haven't. Will definitely come back for more if i get lucky with the booking. Managed to visit 2nd time for the winter menu, overall again its a wonderful 7 course dinner with quality ingredients. The sushi basically the same as last time. The rest are new and i like it even better this time! Kudos to the chef. Service can be improved but just happy that i could come because its hard to book!"
