"While the staff were lovely when I called and asked the cost of my mammogram I was told $80 which is what I brought to the appointment so you can imagine my shock when asked for $268 when it came time to pay. Not only that 3 days later I'm still waiting on my Medicare rebate as the machine didn't work when trying to claim. If I had know that it was going to cost that amount I would have booked a week later as I didn't have the money and this has now but me in a very difficult financial position."

"my dad’s PET scan did not work the first time due to the negligence on the part of the nurses. they disregarded his complaints that the needle did not feel correct - no sense of person-centered care. what makes things worse is that today when he went in FOR THE SECOND TIME for this procedure, they all said that they had heard it did not work the first time… where was the accountability? someone should have called or emailed him, to apologise and check up on him. a PET scan isn’t a small procedure. do better as healthcare professionals, you KNOW that you have a responsibility to the patient and their wellbeing."

"Very disappointed with the staff at SJOG hospital. My husband needed a PET scan done, and they had to use his port. When the nurse needled it my husband vocalised that it wasn’t right and felt sore, however she carried on saying that it is flushing, so it’s all good. She disregarded his first complaint. When he went into the room to have the dye inserted, he once again mentioned to ANOTHER nurse that he was uncomfortable with the needle. She also disregarded him and said it was sitting okay. They went ahead with the procedure, and guess what! It failed!! If only the nurses listened to the patient and provided the client-centred care, which is expected of them. It seems that the patients needs were ignored, and the money came first. My husband is an educated young man, who can speak fluent English. What scares me is the fact that the nurses here would treat elderly patients, especially those from other cultural backgrounds, with no regard. Not impressed. I expect more from the healthcare that is provided in WA."

"Went for an MRI on one of my shoulders for workers compensation. I think Dr Jeremy Bates got his doctorate in a cereal box. I kept saying before the MRI to the radiologists, my GP, Physio and I think it's nerve pain, as the 8/10 pain is where the nerves travel from the neck to the arm, real year 10 human biology stuff. His report was rudely written with spelling mistakes and mentions muscles and tendons, but nothing on nerves. This now means I'm going to be out of pocket for a future scan due to Jeremy Bates incompetence."
