About Amore Italian Restaurant and cafe
Welcome to Amore Italian Restaurant and Cafe, located in the heart of Floreat on Cambridge Street. Owned and operated by Michelangelo Caforio, a third-generation restaurateur, Amore Floreat promises to deliver an authentic Italian dining experience like no other.
Michelangelo's journey in the restaurant industry began with his grandfather's establishment in Martina Franca, a small town in the Puglia region of South Italy, back in 1908. Following in his family's footsteps, Michelangelo's father later opened the Park Hotel San Michele, which still stands today as the largest operating hotel in the same town. Growing up in the kitchen and hotel, Michelangelo learned the traditional Italian techniques and secrets to creating genuine cuisine.
At Amore Floreat, Michelangelo aims to bring the flavors of Puglia to Australia. Using only the freshest ingredients, every meal, whether enjoyed in the cozy restaurant or taken away, will showcase the authentic Puglia way of cooking. With his extensive experience, Michelangelo's passion for food shines through in every dish he prepares.
But Michelangelo's expertise isn't limited to his family ties. During his time in Beijing, he owned a restaurant and cooked for the Australian embassy, delighting diplomats, VIPs, and locals with his unique and fun approach to dining. After meeting his Perth wife in China, Michelangelo made the move to Perth over two years ago, bringing his culinary talents to the Australian food scene.
Joining Michelangelo in the kitchen are highly experienced professional Italian chefs who work together to ensure that every diner experiences the authentic tastes of Puglia and the Mediterranean. At Amore Floreat, you'll feel like you're sitting at a table in Italy, savoring the rich flavors and warm hospitality that the country is renowned for.
Amore, meaning love or passion in Italian, is not just a name, but a reflection of the heart and soul that goes into every dish prepared at this establishment. Open for coffee, breakfast, lunch, and dinner service, Amore Italian Restaurant and Cafe is the perfect place to indulge in a true Italian culinary experience. Come and join us at our Floreat location, where love and passion for food are at the forefront of everything we do.

Reviews of Amore Italian Restaurant and cafe
"Amazing staff amazing dishes. We came here a few times. Very lively and very welcoming. Food is great… coming from a chef. Only wish I have found this place sooner. Best Italian food in WA."
"Lovely and authentic Italian restaurant. The owner is so nice and just made our night. The food was amazing. They cater for vegetarians. If you want a phenomenal Italian meal with a phenomenal atmosphere and lovely owner then I definitely recommend. They even played the Swedish anthem for my friend!"
"Authentic Italian food! Very cozy and friendly atmosphere. We want to go back and try more dishes."
"That wasn't Amore! We were enthusiastic to go to That's Amore in Floreat as the friends with whom we went had been several times. The bruschetta had very thin slivers of tomato and the other bruschetta was OK. The pork dish that one had was good but the two Chicken Mattone were just average and my Zucchini Pesto linguini was very poor. It was a creamy sauce with no hint of parmesan and a couple of prawns cut into small pieces with no flavour. It was very bland not like any pesto I have ever had or made (I am Italian) but I was told to taste it again before asking for cheese. This I did and the owner was not forthcoming with it. He was more interested in discussing pasta with the table behind us. I waited and then went and asked the chef for cheese which he gave me in a very small bowl. My friends we very disappointed with being ignored unlike other diners. My friend looked at the bill the following day and rang the owner who could not tell her what the miscellaneous charges $6 were or the surcharges $4.22. It was fully licensed so there should have been none and it was not a long weekend. Most unreasonable was the $6 charged for cheese which should have been on the pesto dish. Charging $31 was not OK! We have other favourite genuine Italian restaurants which we will frequent. A very disappointing experience."
"Classic Italian cuisine, sure about professionalism and taste. A nice wine list with a great selection of apulean wines. Amazing owner and staff. Thanks for the wonderful dinner, Michele!"
