Reviews of Stanley College Mirrabooka Campus
"Extremely disappointing! My student ID is 12029151. All I write here about Stanley College Mirrabooka campus is true. ▇ CONCLUSION: I should've gone to other schools to do my individual support course. Anyone interested in such courses, do some research before you jump into this trap! Absolutely waste of money and time. ▇ REASONS: ▇ 1. Longer period. (This course lasts for 4 months. It doesn't teaches you more things. They simply arrange classes randomly, which means you may have class on Mon. Wed. Fri this week, and then next week on Tue. & Thu. only. The curriculum changes every week. International students have to struggle with their income while doing the course); ▇ 2. Longer placement. (150hrs is required while other schools requires 120hrs); ▇ 3. Unreliable system information (Several students and I have gone to school during the course and were told that we didn't have to come. We were then told the curriculum in system is not correct, we should've gone to the reception to get a printed schedule); ▇ 4. Absence (You might be marked as absent for a certain class even when you have been present there. You might have told the trainer in advance that you had to go home earlier to pick up your kid from school, or you had an medical appointment to go, etc. etc before leaving the class ten minutes earlier than other students. Then you might be marked absent. I was marked as absent three times, although I was there all the time and I had to argue. It was eventually corrected. Anyone who didn't argue might just pay gain.) ▇ 5. Missing refund. I did my credit transfer of first aid and CPR course in March. And I didn't take part in the lessons. Theoretically I would get a partial refund for it as they told me. The money never came back to me. Never! ▇ 6. Discrimination against foreign students. On my last day in school before the placement, a Brazilian student was sent home, because she was told that she was an international student. So she couldn't do the placement. She needed to wait for another month. And then I was told I could not do the placement because I was an international student. (What was the point for us to stay there the whole day to do the so-called placement induction if we could not do it? To listen to the advertisement presentation about your new 2-year course for nursing?) ▇ 7. Chaotic management: I have gone to the college three times to try to solve this problem. Students with the same visa could do their placement, why couldn't I do it? It turned out to be that they lost one of my assessments! What was the first solution suggested? Redo the unit. Eventually the manager helped me to find out my assessment book. (The only efficient way to solve a problem is to find the manager. Every time.) ▇ 8. Bureaucratism: I stayed in hospital for a week after finishing my placement. When I went on Friday to school to hand in my placement book, I was rejected. They accept placement booklets on Thursday only. Although I showed them the picture of me in hospital and also the ECG pads still on my chest at that time. A "no" is a "no". This is probably why some students were marked as absent when they have actually attended the class. ▇ 9. Endless waiting: so I handed in my placement booklet on 3rd July to the manager directly. I was told by the reception that the certificate would be ready in 5 days. In a week, I called and was told to wait. Then after two weeks, I wrote an email to enquire and was told to fill in a link to apply for the certificate (something new?). It is now 14th Aug. It's been one and a half month now. Still no certificate!!!"
"Although the course and work placement I completed was satisfactory, no major issues with the staff or lectures …. I have waited over a MONTH to receive my certificate for completing my course and OVER 2 MONTHS to receive my first aid certificate. I have gone into the facility twice now and am STILL waiting for my certificates….. I was told it would only take 5 working days. And have been more than patient in waiting for them. Very disappointing end to being at the college. Not even receiving proof of my qualifications gained."
"My recent experience at Stanley College was incredibly frustrating, and I believe it is crucial to share my concerns with others who may be considering this institution. It is evident that the college prioritizes profit over the well-being of its students. Firstly, the behavior of the front staff, particularly the Indian lady named "Ritika," was consistently disappointing. Whenever I approached her to request to speak with the manager, she claimed he was busy. However, I observed her promptly assisting others who approached her with the same request. This biased treatment only reaffirmed the unprofessional and discriminatory atmosphere at the college. Moreover, it is clear that Stanley College is solely focused on financial gains rather than student satisfaction. Despite being promised that I would receive my certificate within 10 working days, it took an astonishingly long period of one and a half months for it to finally be issued. It is utterly unacceptable for a college to disregard its own commitments and cause unnecessary delays for its students. It seems evident that they prioritize their own administrative convenience over fulfilling their promises. Furthermore, the college's placement services were subpar and lacked any consideration for students' convenience. The placements were often located far away, resulting in significant commuting challenges and reduced opportunities for effective engagement. Unfortunately, when I attempted to voice my concerns and provide feedback, the college administration showed a complete lack of interest in addressing these issues. Their indifference towards students' feedback further highlights their money-driven approach and lack of genuine concern for student welfare. I must emphasize that if it were not for our persistent pestering of the manager, we would likely never have received our certificates. This lack of proactive follow-up and the need for constant reminders demonstrates the college's careless and disorganized approach to student affairs. To conclude, Stanley College's primary focus appears to be maximizing their financial gains. My experience with Ritika's biased behavior, the excessive delay in receiving my certificate, and the unsatisfactory placement services all point towards the college's profit-driven motives. I strongly urge prospective students to seek out an institution that genuinely values their education and well-being, rather than wasting their time and money on Stanley College's negligent approach to student affairs ."
"It is a good school, but after my trainer resigned, the new trainer of ECEC is very unprofessional and extremely rude, her name is Navneet Kaur, She love to control students in the class, as if she can control immigrations’ life especially international students. Obviously she needs more training to be a trainer! Apart from the unpleasant experiences in her class, I love Stanley college!"
"The trainers we had were very knowledgeable and patient with our class. Thank you to Vishnu,Victoria and Monica for your guidance and understanding. It made an old man like me enjoy going back to the classroom. Also a big thank you to Salma for all that you have done for me and my wife Karis"
