"Took my PTE exam here yesterday and I was overall very impressed with the experience. The 2 ladies that booked us in were friendly and kind which is exactly what you want when you are a nervous wreck before sitting an exam like i was! They put me at ease! The room was clean and we all had segregated booths which was good. What was really great was that they provided ear buds so could use these if the room was loud which helped me keep my concentration! I'm really happy with how the day went!"
"As an international student be aware that you can feel very lonely and SEGREGATED during classes at this college. For example as an individual of a different race , you are mostly likely to struggle to get people to sit with in class or find people who want to do group discussion or presentations with you. The class environment can be very segregated in a very obvious way and rest assured that the teachers will do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about it. Moving forward I think your teachers need to SPEAK UP against segregation based on race, nationality or ethnicity etc in classes to provide a classroom friendly environment that is inclusive. Most of the teachers here just turn a BLIND EYE. If you are a person of colour and have other options for colleges please don’t go to Edith Cowan College. You deserve better and need to protect your dignity and mental health. ✌️"
"Not recommend to students..they do not hav enough teachers and they behave like university ..mid of term they suddenly change classes time table..i was accounting student..before they do hav finance teacher then next term not hav accounting teacher then then force to take hospitality units..and do fake promises to send u to ecu.."
"Not recommended at all to any international student. zERO support for international students during COVID crisis. Despite all units being online where lectures get absolutely monotonous and lecturers cannot cater to the learning needs of all types of learners (auditory, visual, kinesthetic), the exams were ridiculously hard for the engineering diploma students, the marking equally strict and no relaxation in workload at all. While institutes world over are trying to make it simpler for their students to achieve success, ECC has only made it harder. I'm speaking as the guardian of a student here who I know was struggling and had tried to explain many times to the college that she won't manage to do 4 units and would appreciate some relief. She got no support and was made to do all 4, as a result of which, she couldn't clear three out of the four units. She's been begging for at least a re exam as finances are tough everywhere in the world and things are extra hard for international students but to no use. A professor actually failed a majority of the class and even the brightest ones barely passed. What sort of a professional teacher does that? I'm really curious as I've been in the field of Education as a teacher and a trainer for 6 years and have actually completed Master of Education from ECU itself. Anyone who is reading this, if you're going straight to ECU, that's great but if it is one year at ECC first, be prepared for hell. We're currently facing a loss of about 10,000 AUD, 6 months and morale, and nobody is really helping. Not recommended at all to any international student."
"Hi I did a PTE test there. I am very disappointed in the quality of education and professionalism of the test centre. While I was doing the speaking section of the test, some of the students was literally shouting in the microphone. I was unable to focus and would struggle to carry on because the headset would not block the noises. I complain to the lady at the end of the test. I also ring them to complain and hoping that this situation would be rectified. I got a case number but nothing was done. PTE asked me to wait every week. Its has been a month now until I have to call them like the 10th time to get the answer- 'sorry nothing can't be done'. They didn't even get back to me, it is ridiculous how unprofessional pte Edith Cowan College is.Because of this ridiculous situation I was penalise for my test and I had to do it again. I was satisfied with my results in the reading, writing and listening but not the speaking when speaking is my strongest area. I WOULD NOT, I MEAN NEVER, RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AGAIN TO ANYONE ONE I KNOW. SPECIALLY AFTER THE WAY PTE TREATED MY SITUATION AND DID NOT PROVIDE ME WITH APPROPRIATE SUPPORT. DO NOT MAKE THAT MISTAKE OF GOING THERE TO DO YOUR ENGLISH, YOU WILL REGRET IT. REGARDS"
