Welcome to The ORIGINS Project – Telethon Kids Institute Joondalup! Located at Edgewater, Joondalup Drive, 57, our institution is a point of interest in Australia's health establishment. Our ultimate goal is to reduce the rising epidemic of non-communicable diseases through promoting a healthy start to life.

At The ORIGINS Project, we conduct long-term core research and also host a number of clinical trials, early interventions, and shorter-term research studies known as sub-projects. These studies explore various aspects of child and family health and development.

We invite families to participate in The ORIGINS Project, providing researchers, students, clinicians, and universities with a unique opportunity to play a crucial role in changing the health of future generations. As a collaboration between Telethon Kids Institute and Joondalup Health Campus, we involve families from the Joondalup and Wanneroo communities.

Being the largest study of its kind in Australia, The ORIGINS Project follows 10,000 children from their time in the womb over a decade to improve child and adult health. Our comprehensive study focuses on pregnant women and their families, recruiting those who receive pregnancy care or plan to deliver their baby at Joondalup Health Campus, as well as families from the Joondalup and Wanneroo communities.

We closely monitor the progress of pregnant women, their partners, and babies for the first five years of the baby's life and beyond. We believe that an individual's lifetime health and disease may be programmed at a very early stage, even while the child is still in the womb.

Our dedicated researchers not only investigate disease prevention but also strive to discover how every child and family can reach their full potential.

The ORIGINS Project aims to include more than 20,000 individuals within family units, including mothers, partners, children, and siblings. We guarantee 100% privacy and assure you that your information will not be shared.
