"I have been buying from this vegetable shop for 16 years. I always only buy a few things (such as eggs) but on a regular basis. I was going past today and thought I would quickly get two boxes of eggs. The lady serving me said something about charging the wrong price last time I was there and I needed to pay the difference. With masks on, it’s always hard to hear so I thought she said she had charged me the 700 g price but I always get the 800 g eggs. I always try to be kind so was all ready to pay the difference ( a couple of dollars I thought- giving her the benefit of the doubt). She says, no- it’s $40! And proceeds to pull out a receipt from 20 January where she had charged $4.99 each for two boxes of cherries instead of $25 each. Now, I haven’t even bought any cherries at all this year. So I said- sorry. That wasn’t me. She said she would check CCV TV ( to prove my guilt). I said- you do that. And left. When I got to my car I checked my bank statement, there was no purchase on that day. Then I remembered! I was in Broome from the 14/01 to the 22/01.I can prove this. How could I have shopped ( and basically stolen) from this store in that time? I must say, I am quite upset about this. I have a friend who swore never to shop there again. I see what she means. I am sorry for the lady that this happened. Maybe she had to make up the difference out of her pay? I know they work long hours. But they really do need to be sure of their facts before they accuse someone."
