With 27 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist, I have had the privilege of working in various locations around the world, including London, England, Tennessee, USA, Johannesburg, South Africa, and now Brisbane, Australia. This diversity of experiences has enriched my private practice, allowing me to bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my clients.
At Sharon Joyce Occupational Therapist, my primary focus is helping children achieve their general developmental milestones and promoting independence in their daily functional skills. I also provide support for parents and teachers, recognizing the vital role they play in a child's growth and development.
Therapy sessions at our institution encompass a wide range of services, including sensory and emotional regulation, postural control, gross motor and fine motor skills, visual perceptual skills, social skills, and emotional resilience. These services are designed to benefit children as young as 4 months old up to 12 years old.
In addition to in-person therapy sessions, we also provide home exercises and reading materials to help parents and children manage and improve their skills outside of our sessions. By empowering children to feel confident in their day-to-day interactions at home, school, and socially with friends and family, we aim to set them up for success in all aspects of their lives.
