Welcome to Tallowwood Child Care Centre, located in the serene bush setting of Toohey Forest in Nathan, Australia. Established in 1987, Tallowwood is one of the Griffith University Early Childhood Education Centres, dedicated to providing high-quality educational programs in a safe and supportive environment.

At Tallowwood, we cater to children aged three months to five years, offering a nurturing and stimulating environment from Monday to Friday, between 7.30 am and 6 pm. Our passionate team is committed to helping children from Griffith University staff, students, and the wider community grow and develop their potential.

Our centre is open to both Griffith University staff, students, and the community, ensuring a diverse and inclusive learning environment for all children. We operate for 50 weeks of the year, with a two-week closure over the Christmas period.

If you're wondering what happens after you submit your waiting list application form, rest assured that we prioritize prompt communication and will keep you informed throughout the process.

In terms of fees, please note that even if your child's booked day falls on a public holiday, fees still apply as we need to cover staff and operating costs. However, the Australian Government's Childcare Subsidy (CCS) can cover up to 42 absence days a year, including public holidays.

Similarly, if your child is sick, you are still required to pay for the scheduled day. However, the Childcare Subsidy can cover unlimited sick days if you provide a medical certificate or similar documentation.

To ensure a smooth transition for your child, we have a minimum requirement of at least two days (or three in Kindergarten). This helps them settle into the program and establish routine and familiarity.

Once your child is offered a position at our centre, we highly encourage you to participate in one to two weeks of orientation. This will allow your child to develop attachment relationships with our dedicated staff team and become comfortable in their new environment.
