About Yulu-Burri-Ba Wynnum Clinic
Welcome to Yulu-Burri-Ba Wynnum Clinic, a community-controlled health service located at 85 Edith Street, Wynnum. As an establishment focused on health and well-being, we are proud to serve the community of North Stradbroke Island and Brisbane's Bayside suburbs.
Our mission is to be a leader in providing community-controlled primary and social well-being health services. We strive to improve the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through holistic and preventative approaches to health.
At Yulu-Burri-Ba, we are committed to delivering quality primary and social well-being health programs in a culturally safe and sensitive manner. Our goal is to enhance the health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in the Quandamooka Region.
The name "Yulu-Burri-Ba" holds deep significance. It originates from a time when the Aboriginal people of North Stradbroke Island and Moreton Island were referred to as Yoolooburrabee, meaning "the people of the sand and the sea" by the mainland Aboriginal tribes.
We offer a culturally safe and comprehensive range of bulk-billed medical services. Our aim is to provide access to a variety of health service programs that improve the overall health and well-being of our clients. Additionally, we have a range of visiting medical services to further enhance the care we provide.
Yulu-Burri-Ba's Social Health Family Wellbeing program focuses on building the capacity of individuals and families to improve functioning and well-being. We also have the "Jajum Bajara" program, which is based on the internationally recognized and evidence-based Birthing in our Community (BIOC) model of care.
Furthermore, our Kinship & Foster Care Program is dedicated to recruiting, teaching, reviewing, and supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander carers. We believe in creating a strong support system for our community.
For our younger community members, we have an exciting Easter vacation care program designed for those aged 12-25. Our programs aim to promote a sense of belonging, connection to culture and community, and provide a safe space for our youth, both physically and emotionally.
We are currently seeking a fastidious cleaning specialist who will exceed our expectations in maintaining a clean and hygienic environment. Attention to detail is crucial, ensuring that all bathrooms are sparkling, floors spotless, and rubbish removed on schedule.
On Wednesday, 8th March 2023, we invite you to join us at YBB Capalaba for a morning tea to acknowledge and celebrate the incredible women who have shaped our past, present, and future.
Yulu-Burri-Ba Aboriginal Corporation for Community Health acknowledges the Quandamooka people as the traditional custodians of the lands and seas where we work. We also pay our respects to Elders, both past and present, and honor their wisdom and guidance.
Thank you for visiting our webpage. We are dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to our community. Please feel free to contact your nearest clinic and ask for the CLO (Keiron, Matt, Cara) if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Reviews of Yulu-Burri-Ba Wynnum Clinic
"Never have appointments available. I've been without blood pressure medication for 10 days, and my BP is consistently in the high range, as this "service" is well aware. I BEG for an electronic prescription. Admin refers me to the even worse (if that's possible) Mob Link, who haven't returned my call from 5 days ago. Do I need to have a heart attack for these services to do their jobs?"
"Used to be amazing but due to obbvious recent cuts in funding they are never available when needed and have forgotten my appointments on multiple occasions even cancelling my dental surgery... Not even able to get a doctors cert when home sick from work. How am I realistacly meant to have one GP when everytime my self or my partner are sick we have to go to whatever doctor is available that bulk bills.. I know you guys aren't really the problem but it's just deeply sadd3ning"
