Reviews of Sunshine Coast University Hospital
"My husband had a cancer in kidney. We wait for 6 weeks to see the specialist here. The appointment is 1.30pm today. He have been wait for 1.5 hrs till an admin told him that the doctor is on leave they will rebook for my husband again. We don't know if we may have to wait another 6 weeks. We are very upset and so stressful as he actually need to get operation soon."
"Went to ED yesterday with a dislocated shoulder. Was seen after 10 minutes and out in 2 hours! Unheard of! Dr Ben Lyman and team treated me with great care. Very impressed and grateful!"
"I've just recently given birth as a first time mum at SCUH and am so, so pleased and grateful for the experience I had there. Over the 2 days stay and through the birth we had many kind, knowledgeable and helpful staff members looking after us. Seriously, all of them were amazing. I was part of every decision. I felt safe and cared for in a way I didn't know I would need. Just want to extend my thanks to everyone in birthing suite! We also had access to good facilities and a cosy, clean room. All round fantastic."
"I attended ED on Thursday for a laceration to my thumb. I was seen too quickly, and the care was 10/10. Sonia was my doctor and her bedside manner & professionalism was fantastic. The pregnant nurse who came to take my vitals ( don’t remember her name sorry!) was friendly and warm. Great experience"
"Having worked here as a staff member and now being a patient at SCUH I can say that it is a nice new and clean hospital with a refreshing difference. However design and outline for elderly, frail or injured could use improvement for the long distances required to walk throughout. Horizontal escalators perhaps? Staff have been for the majority competent and friendly... having your own room too most times is a huge bonus and much appreciated. Parking is a cost you have to factor in $15 a day however when you consider world class health care is given free (at the cost of medicare) this is a small price to pay really and concessions are available for certain eligible people."
