About the Business
Welcome to Tukuwompa Park, located in the beautiful Moreton Bay Region of Queensland, Australia. As an establishment, park, and point of interest, we offer a range of activities and amenities for visitors to enjoy.
At Tukuwompa Park, we are proud to be a part of Seqwater, one of the largest and most diverse water businesses in Australia. With a mission to provide essential water services for over three million people in South East Queensland, Seqwater ensures that our dams not only capture and store drinking water for the region, but also provide flood mitigation benefits.
For nature enthusiasts, there are hidden gems scattered throughout Seqwater catchments, perfect for birdwatchers and keen photographers to explore. These wondrous places offer a chance to immerse yourself in the beauty of the Australian landscape.
Water activities are a highlight at Tukuwompa Park, with electric powered boating allowed at several Seqwater lakes. Before heading out, make sure to familiarize yourself with the rules, use designated areas, check your speed, and stay out of exclusion zones. Fuel powered boating is also permitted at certain lakes, with Lake Wivenhoe having specific restrictions on the type of fuel powered boating allowed.
If you prefer land-based activities, there are numerous trails surrounding our dams and lakes for the community to enjoy. Whether you're a walker, runner, cyclist, or horse rider, there's a trail for you to explore.
Camping options are available at Wyaralong Dam and Lake Manchester, which are managed by Seqwater. For all other campgrounds, they are privately operated, providing a variety of choices for those looking to immerse themselves in the great outdoors.
Tukuwompa Park also caters to pet owners, with dog on leash parks available for everyone to enjoy. It's important to be considerate of other visitors and clean up after your pet, while also noting that dogs are not permitted in the water at any of our lakes.
Fishing enthusiasts will be delighted to know that many of our lakes are popular fishing spots. Depending on the location, you may require a SIPS permit to fish. Make sure to familiarize yourself with the Queensland recreational fishing rules and regulations before casting your line.
For those who enjoy horse riding, multi-use trails at several of our dams and lakes are open for this activity. It's a great way to explore the surrounding areas and take in the scenic views.
If you're a fan of water sports, Tukuwompa Park offers opportunities for kayaking, rowing, sailing, stand up paddling, and even wakeboarding, jetskiing, water skiing, and tubing at lakes where fuel-powered boating is permitted. Safety is paramount, so please ensure you adhere to all boating rules and regulations set by Maritime Safety Queensland.
For those looking for a relaxing day out, picnic and barbecue facilities are available at many of our lakes. These areas are conveniently located in day-use areas and often close to playgrounds, making it a perfect spot for families and friends to gather and enjoy a meal together.
At Tukuwompa Park, we prioritize the safety and enjoyment of our visitors. We encourage everyone to plan ahead and stay informed about any temporary changes or announcements from Seqwater. Whether you're looking for a peaceful nature retreat, an adrenaline-pumping water sport adventure, or simply a place to relax and unwind, Tukuwompa Park has something for everyone. "I didn’t see any toilets but I nice view at sunset and plenty of parking. Also had barbecue and picnic area however, only enough space for one party."
"Quiet. Beautiful. All weather access to walks. Great picnic areas especially for families and individuals like me. Many different locations in one area and easy walking between each. Didn't see much wildlife this time but lovely birdsong. Even ants had been busy in building a nest high up in a tree. And a good view of the dam wall. Go there..."
"Great views of the water, trees and mountains. You can have a swim. There is a kids playground. Lots of space for RC devices. Excellent place for flying a drone. There are BBQ and toilet facilities. Alot of cyclists and joggers frequent the area as there is alot of great scenery. You can usually park inside the park unless it's extremely busy."
"This park is just lovely. Whilst it is right on the road, the car park is wide giving you plenty of space to manoeuvre. Flat grass around the BBQ shelter which then gently slopes down to the waters edge. Much to the delight of young children, yabbies and small fish are regularly caught here. Great on sunset with a picnic table, group of friends and board game!"
"Nice little park overlooking the north pine dam. Has a single covered picnic table and an electric BBQ"
