About Woodford Folk Festival
Welcome to Woodford Folk Festival, located at Woodford, Woodrow Road, 87 in Australia. We are a not-for-profit, community-driven institution with a 500-acre headquarters at Woodfordia. Our passion lies in producing various events such as the Woodford Folk Festival, The Planting, Festival of Small Halls, and Woodfordia’s Artisan Camp.
At Woodfordia, we strongly believe in slow, steady, and purposeful communication as we strive to make a difference. If you'd like to stay updated with our activities, we recommend signing up for our monthly email updates. We believe that there is a different way we can live on this planet, and we want to share our authentic experiences with you.
As a parkland dedicated to the arts and humanities, we are proud to have a permanent site and are committed to preserving this beautiful place for future generations. We express our heartfelt gratitude to our volunteers and donors who have supported us throughout the years. Without their dedication and financial contributions, we would not have accomplished what we have today.
Woodfordia thrives on the power of community, and it is through the efforts of tens of thousands of volunteers that our festivals come to life. We also extend our gratitude to our donors who generously support us financially. Together, we create something truly special.
As the registered Native Title holders for the Woodford area and Woodfordia's Traditional Custodians, we, the Jinibara people, welcome you to our culture. Our territory is rich in sacred sites, Dreaming places, and ceremonial grounds. Through stories, song, and dance, we connect with our country and ancestors, and we invite you to experience our culture firsthand.
Woodford Folk Festival is a six-day celebration that marks the end of one year and welcomes the next. It is a haven for music and dance lovers, circus and cabaret enthusiasts, health and wellbeing seekers, food and drink connoisseurs, and arts and crafts admirers. It is a celebration of life in all its many glories.
Festival of Small Halls offers a unique way to explore Australia in the spirit of hospitality and great fun. It brings the best folk and contemporary artists from two of the country's largest festivals to tiny halls in communities all over Australia.
Take a piece of Woodfordia home with you through our treasures and keepsakes. We hope that they will continue to bring a touch of Woodfordia into your everyday life.
Woodfordia Publishing is our new venture, aimed at providing you with the best ethical, sustainable, and green-minded books through digital platforms. Our first release, "Puppy's First Night" featuring Sparkle de Barkle, is a beautifully illustrated children's book about learning to care for pets.
Our Traditional Owners, the Jinibara people, are members of the Jinibara Nation. They are the registered Native Title holders for the Woodford area and are descendants of Fanny Mason (Jowalmel) and Johnny McKenzie (Wangiramu). Their history and connection to the land are deeply rooted in Woodfordia.
Join us at Woodford Folk Festival and immerse yourself in the vibrant culture, music, arts, and community that make Woodfordia a truly special place.

Reviews of Woodford Folk Festival
"We stayed at Woodfordia for the Easter holidays. Although there was no festival they did have great entertainment each evening, activities for kids throughout the day and of course the beautiful Lake Gkula to swim in. Great place to spend a few days made all the more special by the many volunteers."
"Great event again this year, loads of great music, comedy, arts and just pure fun!.Grab some friends and stay the week, the only way to really experience the full atmosphere!"
"First time at Woodford folk fest And LOVED IT THE VIBE FROM EVERYONE WAS AMAZING. The Aboriginal Cultural Performances were Scarce where I thought I would see Aboriginal culture throughout the whole festival instead it was like spot the Aboriginal. The space the Aboriginal people were provided was small and at the other end of the festival. As soon as there is a little rain there’s mud everywhere but that didn’t affect the woodfordia people of having a good time. My advice bring gummy’s (gum boots) or work boots. If you’re not planning on cooking your own food it can be pricey to eat out every night. So Much Delicious and Cultural food it’s hard to just walk past. I WOULD GO AGAIN…"
"The giants were a favourite. Dispite muddy grounds, the family had fun. We did a craft activity in the children's festival, tried the paella, got henna body art and listened to live music."
