Millen Farm
About the Business
Welcome to Millen Farm, a not-for-profit community-based organization located in the beautiful Samford Valley, just a short 30-minute drive from the bustling city of Brisbane. Our institution is dedicated to engaging the community in a celebration of locally-grown food through the use of sustainable urban farming systems.
At Millen Farm, we strive to establish a financially and ecologically-sustainable urban farming system that serves as a model for others who are interested in pursuing similar initiatives. We believe that by sharing our knowledge and experiences, we can empower individuals and communities to embrace sustainable practices and contribute to a healthier, more resilient food system.
One of the ways we achieve this is through our regular working bees, workshops, holiday activities, and school visits. These events provide hands-on opportunities for individuals of all ages to learn about organic gardening, permaculture, and other sustainable farming techniques. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just starting out, there's something for everyone at Millen Farm.
In addition to our educational programs, we also offer a platform for the community to donate and exchange their excess produce with others. Through our Community Exchange program, you can connect with fellow gardeners and food enthusiasts, fostering a sense of community and reducing food waste. We believe that by sharing our resources, we can build strong and sustainable relationships within our local area.
If you're passionate about sustainable farming and want to get involved, we encourage you to join our team of dedicated volunteers. We offer a variety of volunteering roles that cater to different interests and skill sets. By contributing your time and expertise, you'll not only be making a difference in our community but also gaining valuable knowledge and connections in the world of urban farming.
For those who want to take their involvement to the next level, we offer a Supporter Program and Garden Patrons option. These programs provide additional benefits such as exclusive events, discounts on workshops, and the opportunity to have a personal connection with the farm and its activities.
If you're looking to buy farm produce, we have you covered. Our farm shop offers a wide range of fresh, locally-grown produce that is not only delicious but also supports our mission of promoting sustainable agriculture. We also participate in the Drakes Community Dollars program, so you can contribute to our cause simply by doing your regular grocery shopping.
Millen Farm is more than just an institution, it's a community of like-minded individuals who are passionate about sustainable living and locally-grown food. We invite you to explore our website, learn more about our programs, and join us on this exciting journey towards a more sustainable future. Together, we can make a difference.

"Delicious and organic food grown here. They have a wide range of educational courses. On Site Framers' Markets are active on Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings. We get to talk with the Farmers and learn more about the food we're buying!"
"Amazing local and organic market with super friendly people who are happy to share their knowledge about growing, preparing and cooking. Not far from gorgeous Samford town. Great ease of access and parking. I had a lovely conversation with a stall holder about his papayas and he was happy to share his tips about best times to plant papaya seeds and how the seedlings need to be kept under a cover to protect them from to much rain and sun. His papayas are gorgeous and sweet. There's tasters and recipes, olive oil and olives, ethical clothing, organic meats and sustainable seafood."
