Reviews of The Quarry Hotel
"Nice, solid pub. Good place to hang out and watch the game with friends. Decent pool table as well. Good selection of tap beers (but not so much for non-alcoholic beers if that's your jam)"
"Hot tip from a friend of mine lead myself and some associates here for a after work dinner. Menu variety- great Customer service - excellent, friendly, accommodating. Layout and vibe- great Food- I ordered a schnitzel with chips and vegetables. Everything was under cooked. Vegetables - like eating frozen Chips - crunchy in the middle like still frozen Schnitzel- tough and under cooked, tough to chew. Garlic Butter - tough. Garlic Bread - Very good. My party all got chips, which were left untouched, so consistent with the chip theme. Clearly my experience is not what most Google reviwers found, so perhaps just a Monday night thing."
"Took my mum and wife here on a quiet Tuesday night. Was my mum's birthday. Service was superb by the 2 bar tenders, food was sensational, and Guinness was poured correctly. Love your work guys."
"Drove by this place frequently and seen the big screen on my way past. My partner and I decided to go there to watch the footy and have some dinner. We had been talking about it for weeks. We booked a table tonight(Friday) but it ended up not being necessary as it happened to be a quiet night. There was more staff in the place than customers, so it was a surprise when the food came out quick. I ordered the ribs and my partner ordered the bangers and mash(Both gluten free) The ribs were delicious I have to say but my partners bangers and mash with veg was awful. The vegetables were barely cooked and the mash was lumpy, the sausages had no juiciness to them and the whole thing was honestly totally bland. Anyways as we are discussing the food a man who I later found out to be the manager comes over and without a word, and takes my partners plate away. She was frustrated he never even asked about, how the food was? Are you all done? Nothing. A couple of minutes later he grabs my plate, says noting, again. As he was walking away, I just said my food was so tasty thank you, but my partners wasn’t so much, so I explained it to him our issues, no reply. So as the manager walked away after not apologising or even acknowledging our presence, I got a small bit frustrated. I went to see him just before we left to explain that I did not appreciate the lack of, to put it simple, care given. I explained everything to him again he didn’t have much to say, still no apology. Only thing I got from him was he did have two complements earlier about the bangers and mash, no doubt. I don’t write reviews but never experienced such bad customer service in my life $100 really poorly spent and as we left half our food and drinks too, it really ruined our night. UPDATE.. Just thought I’d let people know, if you receive a reply like below, don’t bother contacting them directly over a week now and no correspondence. Dont waste your time"
"Came to the Quarry Hotel fairly early on a random Monday night, maybe not the best time to take a pub’s temperature. Inside was a bit quiet, but the bar staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. First time there so we decided to go with the classics and ordered up a chicken parma and a cheeseburger. The parma was cheesy in all the right ways, but the chicken was a tad thin. Chips were decent, but the slaw was a bit lackluster. Im not one to turn my nose up at a good slaw but you gotta stick to what works a parma - a good lettuce, tomato and cucumber-based salad with a tangy vinaigrette may have been the better answer here. The burger was also middling - not terrible, but not great either. It's a tough sell when you've got better burgers a short stumble away at B.East. Inside definitely has a bit of character and I liked the vintage furniture. Would be nice with a packed crowd and a good footy game to watch, but was bit bleak on a quiet Monday night. Overall, worth checking out, but we're not exactly itching to make a return trip."
