Reviews
"I came back to check if anyone had responded to my review and it has either been deleted or hidden so I’m reposting. This is about Kavi, not the overall store. After booking a month or so in advance and having to reschedule that due to Covid pushing it a couple weeks back I wasn’t able to get my design until late at night the day before my tattoo appointment. I asked to make a couple changes and I asked as nicely as possible because I was nervous and apologised. She seemed hesitant but I thought I was maybe misinterpreting her tone over text. After we did the stencil for one small tattoo around 4cm or so with not a lot of detail. I noticed one of the things I’d asked to be changed wasn’t so I asked about it. She was visibly annoyed and said okay we can start all over again and wiped off the stencil. She sent us to the front of the store again and went to the back room without a word. Came back had changed the line and asked me how I felt about it. I said I was trying to imagine it with shading because there was no shading in the drawing so it was hard when it looked harsh on the white background. She walked away again without a word. Came back and said she won’t do the tattoo but will do the other I wanted which I was happy with the design. I was visibly upset from the first time she walked away. I went through with the other tattoo and before the tattoo and during there was no talk other then once when I asked to readjust my position. I felt really uncomfortable with this whole experience. When I asked at the appointment she showed me my reference photo and said it’s the same but it wasn’t. But even if it was I had asked for that specific line to be changed beforehand. Also when I asked for a continuous line for my other design instead of broken up they said that this was their style if I look at their other work. Which I understand but I still liked parts of the line being not continuous there was some parts I was happy being broken it was just two parts. This isn’t about the store at all it had such a lovely atmosphere and the other people were nice and chatty with their customers. I understand it would be annoying to change the design but it was one line and I had mentioned it before the day so I don’t know how else I could’ve approached that. Their work is really nice and I love their style I’m just upset my experience was ruined."
"Lucky Black Rabbit is a great studio with a great atmosphere. I’ve had 6 tattoos with Kavi and she majorly improved my first tattoo. I first saw her as an apprentice and she has always been exceptional. I keep going back to her because of her skill and warm personality. Planning custom designs and turning my vague ideas into talented works of art is always a joy. She is very attentive and takes into consideration your personal style and skin type when planning and tattooing. No doubt I’ll be back soon with my next vague idea."
"I've been back a few times now to see Kavi (@kavi_tattoo) and she's been wonderful to work with. I love her illustration style, and I can trust her to take my vague brief and turn around something beyond my expectations. All of my tattoos have healed well and I get lots of compliments. The studio itself is open, airy, and has a very friendly atmosphere!"
"I am aware this is not entirely relevant to the studio. But here's my experience, I had my appointment with Gabby (@moonlight_tatt) today and the mistreatment was extremely unpleasant. Gabby and the studio gave me a very professional impression when I came across them on Instagram hence caught my interest in planning for custom tattoo with them. No designs/sketch was sent through even after paying the deposit. Was told they prefer discussing it in the studio on the inking day itself. I rocked up at the place 5mins late (which is definitely my fault) and got discriminated so badly once I stepped foot in the studio. My intentions was understood as stepping on the artists' dignity when attempting to discuss some alteration on the sketch I got on the day itself. Tattoos are inked on my body permenantly and I dont even get a say on the design? In the end, I got refunded the deposit for allegedly "changing the design too much". It's extremely upsetting that Gabby treats their clients like this and I would never want this to happen to anyone else. I'm once again expressing my disappointment on your professionalism and ethics. of course I'm not in any way doubting your skills and techniques as a tattoo artist but at the end of the day, those won't make you a better person, does it?"
