About the Business
Welcome to Geelong Horses Centre, located at Moolap, Clifton Avenue, 251. As an establishment and point of interest, we are proud to offer Geelong Equine Assisted Learning, an animal-based therapeutic program that focuses on reducing the impact of mental illness.
At Geelong Horses Centre, we work closely with horses and other animals, utilizing various techniques such as Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA), Pivotal Response Training, Choice Theory, Emotional Intelligence Training, and resilience training. Our goal is to help our clients develop strategies to overcome challenges related to emotional regulation, impulse control, rigidity, inability to adapt, and resilience.
Situated on approximately 80 acres of farmland, our center is located at Barwon Valley Farm, which serves as the home of Geelong Equine Assisted Learning. We believe in fostering a sense of community and connection among our participants and the herd, as it is integral to our business.
At Barwon Valley Farm, we have a team of 10 therapy horses working in the school, ranging in size and interests. These horses play a crucial role in our programs and provide a safe and supportive environment for our clients to learn and grow.
One of our popular programs is the Saturday Day Program, which runs from 10 am to 3 pm and includes both ridden and non-ridden activities. This general riding program is conducted by our experienced team and offers a wonderful opportunity for our participants to interact with each other and meet individuals who share similar interests. Many of our clients consider attending these Saturday sessions as a goal within their personalized program.

"Beautiful place with beautiful horses that will nourish little ones' spirits and minds. My autistic son has only been twice but he adores coming here and seeing the animals. Kids are also taught responsibility by helping staff get horse feed ans help fees the horses. Great therapy indeed"
"I know the owner Nikki from her former work place! She is the loveliest person I've ever met and just listening to her makes you so much more confident. She's definitely the best instructor I've ever had and so happy that she now owns a riding facility. I've moved riding here the past few months and love everything about this school. Everyone there is so welcoming, inclusive and you really make great friends. There are horses for everyone's riding level and you learn so much about the horses and their personalities, theory work which is very important to know about in the horsey world and riding and how to bring out the best in it (I've learnt so much that I never knew about riding).
