Cancer is unfortunately all too common in our fur-family members. At BVSC, we have treated thousands of cancer patients since our establishment in 2004. We are proud to be the home of the Australian Animal Cancer Foundation, and our comprehensive cancer service has earned a world-renowned reputation for quality, compassion, and leadership in cutting-edge cancer treatment for pets. We were the first in the Southern Hemisphere to provide high energy radiation therapy for pets with cancer, and we continue to offer this service, along with Stereotactic Radiation Therapy, which results in fewer side effects and shorter treatment times.
Our specialist eye disease team, housed in our ophthalmology department, is dedicated to rescuing and repairing eyes in many animal species. They restore vision, prevent ocular disease, and alleviate the pain and suffering caused by various eye conditions.
BVSC is also home to the leading veterinary dental consulting group in Australia, Advanced Animal Dentistry. This experienced team offers a wide range of dental and oral surgery services, from prophylactic scale and polish to complex oral surgery, all with our signature "specialist care with compassion."
We strive to provide our specialists with the most advanced diagnostic tools to ensure accurate and effective treatments with minimal side effects. Our impressive array of advanced imaging platforms guarantees that we can deliver our "specialist care with compassion" to your pet.
At BVSC, we are proud to offer the safest delivery of I-131 treatment for cats with hyperthyroidism through our advanced Cat Capsula systems by Gammasonics. We have created an environment designed to minimize stress while effectively curing cats of this condition.
Continuing education is one of our core values, and we actively participate in the ongoing education of ourselves and our colleagues. By sharing knowledge and supporting the veterinary profession, we strive to improve the care and health of animals.
In addition to our specialized care, we also offer rehabilitation services for animals with soft tissue and musculoskeletal injuries, as well as those recovering from neurological and orthopaedic surgery. Our qualified and registered animal physiotherapists aim to aid in the healing process, reduce pain, and restore function, ultimately improving the quality of life for our patients.
With our commitment to excellence, BVSC is proud to serve the Brisbane community and beyond. We also have two locations to better serve our clients. Visit us at Brisbane Veterinary Specialist Centre The Animal Hospital and experience our "specialist care with compassion" firsthand.

"These guys are amazing I have a difficult situation to put my fathers dog down and they came up with a plan that worked compassion is first and foremost and Kate is an amazing vet! I can not recommend this surgery higher I used QVS and they were rude unfeeling and did things to my dogs I specifically said not to! This surgery is my go to forever !!!!!"
"I brought my dog to Dr Fry (Internal Medicine) after many years of using another specialist vet clinic, and after my experiences with Dr Fry and also the surgical team, BVSC is now my preferred specialist team. I can’t imagine going anywhere else. Continuity of care is excellent. Contemporary knowledge is excellent. Listening to the owner is a priority. I was able to leave my dog with BVSC knowing whether he would be well cared for."
"What is the role of the front desk reception exactly? To “pick up” the phone only and collect the payments? And no service to be provided? Carol I spoke to you today…… No compassion …no understanding…nothing.. just arguing with a customer that you are “thinking you have a e-collar” for small dog… but you “can’t check”??? Because you are “so busy”?? and unlike you when I was compassionate and asked if you were by yourself you said “no, there are 6 of us here”!!! But you wanted me to come over there and drive 45mins to confirm if you had any? And then you said “because you were on the wheelchair and your arm was in sling” you “couldn’t go through so many doors” …it was very obvious that you didn’t want to do anything at all… except fobbing a customer off…In a normal customer service practice if someone is not able to assist a customer for any reason, they ask a colleague to assist…I asked if you could request one of the other 5 members to help with my query… as you were not able to check but you didn’t even want to do that… Carol… this is not how you treat a customer while they need your service for their very sick pet… All I can say to an unhelpful person like yourself is that life is too short and karma catch up to people…."
"Our dog (an old one at 16 yrs) needed help over Easter. Dr Lisa and the team were very thorough and caring. A terrific outcome and reasonably priced for the timing."
"Unfortunately, my 19 year old cat (Zoe) was referred to this clinic by my Vet for a sudden neurological issue. I was given a few options to find out what was going on but due to her age I decided not to intervene. I decided that she should be at peace. I cannot thank the staff enough. It was a very difficult time and all the staff were professional, respectful and caring."
