Reviews of ANZ Branch Underwood Marketplace
"Total waste of time trying to deposit cash into an account.being sent from teller to teller to machine.who designed this operation? Some people prefer cash a Anz prefer no cash and your time to find that out."
"Its one thing to push people do everything online, but not everything can be done online. We use the online booking and booked with someone who hasn't worked there for over a month. They also have a tendency to do all the paperwork with you, take an hour or two and then never submit and lodge the paperwork to make changes to your accounts. Way to look after businesses that bank with you."
"My first post about ANZ Branch Customer service was to note a wait time of 18+ minutes in a line. This organisation has since done away with teller service altogether, at least for personal customers who are accompanied by a staff member to one of the 3+ ATMs and guided through how to complete their transaction. This includes seniors, the majority of whom are uncomfortable using the ATMs. Nevertheless, on asking for teller service, I was informed that tellers are not available to serve customers wishing to make small deposits. Way to make longstanding customers feel valued. In my first post, I noted that the lengthy wait times in queues were intentional on the part of ANZ to persuade the customers to use technology. This latest change (cessation of teller service), confirms that intention. In March 2023 when I was refused teller service, other personal customers were being escorted to ATMs to complete transactions. Several elderly folk voiced their concerns with this new policy but were told this was the only way. When I asked if I could close my account, I was informed that I had to make an appointment to attend for account closure. Forward one week, I went online to make the required appointment however, the system was down and I was hung up on 3 times before an appointment was made. I then telephoned and spoke to an ANZ operator who provided the branch direct telephone number that he said I should use to make the necessary appointment. I phoned the number provided. I did this at 10.30am on a Monday. My call went to voicemail informing that business hours for the branch were from 9am. I WAS CALLING AT 10.30AM. I left a message stating the time of my call and saying that it was made within the bank's stated business hours and I requested a call back. That afternoon with no call back, I again telephoned the ANZ 13 number and was given an appointment date and time (which was for the next morning). On the morning of the appointment, I did receive a call back from the branch that was 25 hours after I'd phoned the branch and left my call back request. At that stage, I informed the caller that I had been served by her colleague via the 13 number and that I was in fact on my way in to the branch to close my account. That branch staff member ignored the fact that I'd left a recorded message informing I was calling her branch at 10.30am on a business day and said nothing about branch staff not answering calls made to them within the bank's business hours. Anyway, I did attend the branch at the appointed time. I was served by a person (finally) who closed my account. My experiences in recent years at ANZ have led me to conclude that personal customers are made to feel unimportant (I've formed this opinion from watching other customers and from personal interactions). I wonder what the impact would be if all unimportant personal customers closed their accounts and went to banks where their business was wanted. Anyway, I have done that and am now free of the ANZ Bank."
"Not professional. I wanted to open up an account which can be done in 15 mins, I had a referral email as well. I called 3 times no one was there to answer, so I had to go in physically and after a 30 min drive they insisted that I have to come back tomorrow. They have no idea what they’re doing."
"Terrible. It took me over an hour to make a single bank cheque. It looks like only one person handles all the counter inquiries. I missed a deal.Come on ANZ what kind of service is this.. Makes me feel to withdraw all from my accounts"
