Reviews
"I’ve been coming to this little unassuming shop for years and it’s about time I leave a review. The salivating array of pastries, baked by a French master chef, are as good as you’ll find anywhere in the world, and I’ve been to Paris many a time. Their chicken and leak pie must surely be the best in the world. Run by a lovely, hard working, v friendly couple."
"The store owner insisted I wait outside on a rainy winter 10°c day to wait for my pie to be heated up. There were three patrons and the majority of the tables were empty, some marked as reserved. It was quite a strange way to make your customers feel at home… I probably won’t be coming back. Regrettably, the pie itself was delicious, and a good size, although it did cost $12."
"I was nervous trying this place, after reading the reviews about how other customers were treated, but my interaction with the lady I presume was the owner was perfectly pleasant in the end. (Mind you, I took mine to go so I'm not sure how I would have felt if asked to sit outside etc!). I've now been twice and really enjoyed the pastries. They employ a French pastry chef and this is probably why they taste so authentic. My husband said the sausage roll I brought home for him was the best he ever had! For me, I am so pleased to be able to eat the products here, as they use very high quality bio-dynamic flour (probably why it's more expensive, but for me it's totally worth it). I discovered, during a recent trip to France, that I am not in fact sensitive to gluten, after eating copious amounts of french pastries with no ill effect. The issue seems to be the gylphosate sprayed on conventional Australian wheat. If you also have gluten sensitivities, I highly recommend you try this place and see if you can tolerate the products better too. Now I can enjoy croissants again I am one happy Francophile!"
"The most arrogant and pedantic cafe owner. Walked in and there is reserved signs on every table though there is only one gentleman there, two ladies took a seat and got told off that the table is reserved and told to sit somewhere else (empty cafe with every table with a reserved sign). If you are doing a take away, you have to wait outside for your coffee in the cold (still an empty cafe). You can only sit inside the cafe to have your coffee IF you buy a pastry or you get told to sit outside. Dining in will cost more than a take away which is fine, but just the arrogance of it, no thanks! Edit: thanks for your reply. You didn't read my comments properly, I said dining in cost more which is fine, I sat down last week and paid more and had no issues, it is your attitude and the way you treat your patrons or potential patrons. If you read through the comments and not be defensive about it, most of the comments are about your attitude than the actual cost. Telling ppl to wait outside in the cold and rain for take away when your cafe has one patron is ridiculous. Your comment about recovery after Covid, you will get loyal customers if you are not as arrogant & rude. I went to the other cafe and their owner said so many ppl have complained about your service, even though the food is good. But by all means, continue to be defensive and arrogant."
