Taxi Council Queensland
About the Business
Welcome to Taxi Council Queensland, the state's peak industry body representing all those involved in the taxi industry. Located at Stones Corner, Cleveland Street, 96, we are a prominent establishment and point of interest for taxi drivers, owners, operators, and booking companies in Queensland.
At Taxi Council Queensland, our main goal is to expand the total market for taxi services by engaging effectively with the Queensland Government, stakeholders, and the community. We strive to ensure that the taxi industry operates smoothly and efficiently, providing reliable transportation services to the people of Queensland.
In recent news, it has come to our attention that there have been numerous fines issued to taxi and rideshare drivers in Queensland for operating in violation of industry guidelines. More than 600 fines have been given, with offenses ranging from failure to display a compliant booked hire sign to unauthorized vehicle stopping in a bus zone. We are committed to working with the authorities to address these issues and uphold the highest standards of professionalism and compliance within the industry.
To further engage with our members and address their concerns, Taxi Council Queensland is planning to hold a series of town hall meetings across the state in the coming months. These meetings will provide an opportunity for members to stay updated on the latest developments and share their thoughts on taxi licensing reforms and compensation. We value the input of all industry stakeholders and believe that by working together, we can achieve the best outcomes for everyone involved.
Unfortunately, we have also become aware of the challenges faced by Queenslanders with disabilities when it comes to accessing wheelchair-accessible taxis. Instances of taxis failing to turn up to bookings have left individuals like Mark McGrath in limbo, causing them to miss important appointments and even almost missing significant events such as funerals. We understand the urgency of addressing this issue and are actively working towards finding solutions to ensure that wheelchair-accessible taxis are readily available and reliable for those who need them.
If you have a stake in the taxi industry and want to have a say in its future direction, Taxi Council Queensland welcomes you to get involved. We believe that by collectively voicing our concerns and ideas, we can make a positive impact and shape the industry for the better. Join us at our town hall meetings and help us use our seat at the negotiation table for maximum advantage.
Thank you for visiting the Taxi Council Queensland webpage. We are dedicated to serving the taxi industry and the community, and we look forward to working together towards a thriving and accessible transportation network in Queensland.

"TCQ are very helpful and great people to deal with."
"Perhaps it is better to ask my opinion privately. Suffice it to say that one gets the representation that one deserves."
