"Alpha is the warm and loving second home for your kids. Alpha have been absolutely fantastic in welcoming my three girls into the centre. Everyone that works there goes above and beyond to make my kids feel special and nurtured. I absolutely recommend Alpha. They have been so important to our family."
"We've been at the Alpha for nearly a year now and all I can say is it is nothing like what I expected it to be. When we move to Melbourne I was looking for somewhere cosy for the kids to settle into and as a bonus to give them some extra exposure to Greek. What I got was much more than that. I have not had a single day of the kids complain about having to go to school, not one day of tears as I drop them off, educators and staff that have taken an interest in each of the kids as well as the family life outside of daycare, a friendly group of parents and kids and two settled and learning 4 year olds. There's always something fun and interesting going on whether it be different animals, activities, or concepts. They’re also now little preachers – “think green, healthy body, heathy eating = healthy teeth” or “no we can’t have that now, we will have to brush our teeth because it will cause plaque” or “we need to put that in the recycle bin” or “we should plant more trees for fresh air”. Giving feedback and observations is not just a report, it's live and given to you daily whether it be from their main educator or others in the centre. I cannot believe how quickly the kids have picked up Greek! From barely understanding it to now singing songs, understanding, and even speaking here or there even if it doesn't always make sense. The fees are reasonable, better than most and while they don’t have the space, shine and modernity of some other centres, the homely feel and creative ways of using the space they have more than makes up for it. I don’t go home wondering if my kids are missing out on something, I know they are safe, being looked after and best of all growing and learning by a truly engaged group of teachers/educators/support staff. I even get the occasional selfie..."
"Our daughter has been at the centre since she was 9 months and we absolutely love Alpha (our daughter included!). The staff are warm, loving and caring. Most of them have been have been working there anywhere from 10-30+ Years. This in itself says a lot about the values of the centre and the fact that the educators love what they do. We love the sense of community and the fact that children are taught and encouraged to celebrate the multicultural society we live in. Most importantly we know that are daughter is loved and cared for. We would highly recommend Alpha!"
"We found that Alpha was the best choice for ensuring a multicultural experience in a warm, friendly environment with professional and consistent support. Our child was supported in adapting and feeling confident and secure following our arrival to Australia, while the staff listened to our needs during that transitional time. Our child enjoys all the real animal experiences, celebrating multicultural holidays and learning through play. Our child has made strong bonds with the staff and children, enjoys an equal amount of physical and intellectual activity, is confident and happy. We will miss Alpha when our little one goes to school next year; it has been lovely to have that sense of community and warmth but also the confidence that our child is fully prepared for primary school. We would definitely recommend Alpha to anyone."
"I just found this review and felt I urgentlly needed to set the record straight. I have had nothing but a fantastic experience with Alpha. I have had two children go through the centre from 9 months old and have experienced each level of care and education the centre offers. My eldest child started school this year and could not have been better prepared - he is curious with a solid foundation of his own sense of self and the role he plays in a shared classroom environment. The cultural outreach side of Alpha has given both my children and myself an insight into a world beyond Melbourne - with Greek language, music, dancing and community that he could not have received at another centre. I find the staff warm, approachable and loving to my children - and a key parent advice line for me. I have one more year of Alpha in my life before my second child starts school - and I will certainly miss them in my life."
