The Herd Intergenerational Learning Centre

Welcome to The Herd Intergenerational Learning Centre, located at 69 Tanti Avenue in Mornington, Australia. As a family-owned and operated service, The Herd was created by sisters Fiona and Anna Glumac, who are dedicated early childhood teachers. Their philosophy is centered around helping children develop a deep connection to their world.

At The Herd, we provide early learning and care for children ranging from 6 weeks to school age. What sets us apart is that we are one of Australia's first shared-roof intergenerational care centres. We bring together children and aged care residents to participate in various activities, such as art, music, lunch, storytelling, and simply spending time together.

Our institution is built on seven core values: connection, adventure, curiosity, health, safety & wellbeing, giving back, inclusion, and family. These values guide our approach to education and care, ensuring that each child feels supported, engaged, and connected.

Outside, our nature play spaces invite children to explore and discover the wonders of the natural environment. We believe in fostering a sense of awe and curiosity in nature, encouraging children to connect with the world around them.

We acknowledge and pay respect to the Traditional Owners of the land on which we operate, the Boon Wurrung / Bunurung people of the Kulin Nation. We also celebrate the stories, culture, and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders from all communities who work and live on this land.
