Explorers Early Learning Nunawading

"the most regrettable thing that I did this year was sending my daughter to the Explorers Nunawading. My Daughter had three incidents in just one month and the last one was a big accident that caused a deep laceration on her face and left a 2cm long permanent raised scar on her right cheek. In the last heartbreaking accident , my daughter was trapped and bumper into the corner of the bench in the outdoor activity area due to the negligent supervision in the center .The surveillance camera showed when the accident happened , the carer was not on the site , and my daughter struggled to stand up and ran to the staff inside the room . Also camera video showed my daughter was trapped by the handle of an overturned wheelbarrow left by someone in the path which kids frequently passed by , the overturned wheelbarrow was an obvious big hazard to the kids’ safety in the playing environment , but was not observed and removed by the staff timely . Explorer Nunawading management team has been very indifferent from the beginning of the accident . They never ever proactively followed up with my daughter’s conditions even she had been absent for a couple of days . Later , I approached them about the investigation and requested being reimbursed of medical expenses( plastic surgery and scar treatment), they agreed on the facts of the accident elaborated above , but they refused to take any responsibility and finally came back to me after a couple months that they could refund me of the care fees for the days when my daughter was absent due to the accident and that was the only thing they could do . The center is very new for both HW and SW , new HW is inviting , but it also means lack of management experience and lack of experienced and capable carers. I wish I had known this earlier."

"Shermie and Winnie run an amazing program and I feel at ease knowing my son has them as his educators. They made my son’s transition to a new centre extremely calming and smooth for both me and him. Both Shermie and Winnie give amazing feedback from my son’s day at pick up and I love hearing what he got up to. Riley has come along way in his emotional and physical development since starting in the Redgums room. I can see the love they have for their job and my son talks about them all the time, and how much fun he has. I’m upset that this is his last year in childcare and wish I found them sooner. My son has learnt so much since coming to explorers and I can tell through the photoblasts and the stories he tells me..he’s in great hands."

"Since CHANGE OF MANAGEMENT, quality of education and care falls dramatically. NO consistent staffs and the staffs always change. The only thing that the centre cares about now is MONEY. Since the Asian director took over the management, they do NOT want to offer you make up day anymore. No offence as I am Asian too and I know how they do "BUSINESS". The Asian lady in the reception will simply tell you ALL ROOM IS FULL. She doesn't even check the date you are requesting as soon as she heard that you want a "MAKE UP DAY" but not book a "CASUAL DAY". They want to save the spot for people to book for "CASUAL DAYS" . So it doesn't matter which dates you are requesting , even though you want to schedule a make up day 1 month or 2 months later, make up days are simply not possible. AVOID this childcare! Dishonest! Very disappointed!"

"My son joined there since March 2022, the educators is kindly. He is now always sing all the time. And the centre arrange many gatherings to let parents meet each other, communicate about the kids glowing."
