"Very impressed with Pet Cover. I have a 3 month old puppy that I insured 1 week prior to him getting chocolate toxicity. He had to go into an emergency vet and stay overnight due to his size and the amount he had ingested. There was no wait time on the policy and Pet Cover reached out to me almost immediately after the vet sent through the claim. Within 2 days, they sent through an email with the amount they were paying in a receipt and it was in my bank account hours later. Cannot recommend them highly enough for dog owners that want hassle free, quick and efficient service during stressful times. Thank you Pet Cover."
"After insuring our pet with this company for over 15 years, and never having made any claims, trying to claim for end-of-life treatments was a nightmare. The claim was split into smaller claims/amounts one of which ended up being below the minimum excess payable, so was declined. Even though I included it with 3 other treatment invoices because I knew it was below the excess by itself. I would urge anyone looking at this insurance company to steer clear - it's not worth it nor is it worth the stress of making a claim. This company does not return calls and, like most insurance companies, will find any reason to get out of paying claims. If I could give 0 stars, I would have!"
"Petcover Australia just recently lost my horse. This insurance company is doing their best to deny my claim. I'm waiting for more information from the vet, which I have passed this information onto the insurance company. So they can deal with them directly. If you are with this company I'd avoid them. Anyone would think I'm asking for 20,000. I have paid more than what my claim is. Having to deal with this after losing my horse is disgusting and upsetting. They are just dragging this on. This is very draining."
"I have only given PetCover 1 star because I had to provide some rating in order to write this review. I am extremely dissatisfied with my insurance. The premium is very expensive for the 'Mid Cover' range compared to competitors and as such have decided to change providers. Today I have contacted them to cancel my cover, no attempt to retain me as a customer either, nor was I asked why I wished to cancel. I have been advised that should I wish to cancel I will need to pay out the remaining premium period or pay back the claims I have made this year. Which is quite ridiculous considering you pay a monthly premium in order to have the opportunity to make a claim. This in essence suggests that for 12 months of the year you are paying them for nothing/to receive no service. As such, just giving your money away. For context I have claimed $260 back on my pet insurance (and paid $720 in premiums this year) , and in order for PetCover to allow me to cancel I will need to reimburse them that $260 or pay out the remaining months of my premium period. What I dont understand is, why do I have to pay PetCover the claims they have paid, and they do not have to pay me back for the premiums that I have paid? It makes absolutely no sense to me at all. Another frustration I have is that when I called them days ago to enquire as to how one would cancel a policy the agent never disclosed that this is a condition of cancelling, so I went ahead and took out another policy with another insurer only to now have been advised that this is the situation should I wish to proceed with cancelling. This is apparently a very bizarre clause that my new insurer has never heard of so it seems like a huge money grab from PetCover. This clause was never mentioned when my breeder initially took out the 6 week puppy insurance, nor was I notified when I continued with the insurance. Overall, very unhappy with this outcome and will never recommend PetCover, if anything I will be sharing this experience with many pet owners."
"My son Michael's beagle has been insured with Petcover since he was a pup, and he is now almost 13 years old. In this time he has had more than his share of illnesses and other mishaps, some minor and some more serious, including one that has been ongoing since Dec 2016 (this one involved treatments that cost us some $16,000 in that insurance year, and Petcover paid it all, apart from his $150 excess). Petcover has never let us down. No claim of ours has ever been refused, and our claims are always dealt with very quickly. We can always count on the money being in our account within three business days of emailing our claim to them. Choosing Petcover for our beagle's insurance was one of the best decisions of our lives."
